Please don't tell me that CRP is going to be like some sorority house with hazing for the newbies! Agh! Or forced drinking games. I could drink booze if I wanted to, but I just don't like the taste of alcohol so I don't want to feel pressured into doing it! So I guess my question is, is there any sort of hazing for newbies? And what are "throw in's" and "throw out's"? ???
Don't worry! There are tons of people who chose not to drink, or just drink sometimes. A huge part of the Canadian Pavilion is that there is "no pressure!" You can't know about throw ins before you go or it won't be a fun surprise, but don't be worried, it's all good fun and you will leave super excited to be part of such an amazing group of canadians who will be your family away from home
hazing isnt allowed it used to be pretty rough stuff with the throw ins but now they are just meet and greets with drinks nothing major - its just a way for people to get a look at the newbies and for the ewbies to bond with each other ad the rest of their pavillion throw outs are when people have finished their programme and are getting rid of some of the stuff they have accumulated over the eyart that they dont want or cant take home some things you get a throw outs - cuddly toys, tvs, dvds, books, bedding, clothes, consoles, laundry baskets etc there is a big drinking culture but if you dont want to drink you dont have to - lots of people dont because they are unader age and scared of getting caught or just dont feel like it - you will still have a good time no matter what
It may be an American thing Hazing(we dont even have sorority houses here in teh UK-people who took them selves that seriously would just be laughed at over here), but the closes you get is a throw in, where you simply answer a few light hearted questions to introduce yourself to your collegues, then have a drink and forget about it-all good fun. I do remember hazing, which im taken to mean serious terrible things such as making you stand on your head in a sandpit all night, been explitly banned by your housing contract with disney
