Going on holiday during application process?

I'm going to be applying to the CRP in Janauary ... but after looking at timelines of applications on various blogs, I'm now a little worried. I'm going on holiday to WDW and Colorado for 3 weeks at the end of March/beginning of April, which seems like it might be a time when - if I were successful - I might get a telephone interview. And I'd hate to miss that because I'm already at where I'm applying to work!

Am I right? And would this be an issue if I am?

(also, I've only come across blogs of people who applied in June/July - does anyone who applied in January have a blog they could link me to?)

Emma the best thing to do is to email yummy or give them a call they are very friendly and could give you a better idea of their timeline as it changes every year.

Heya give yummy a ring- if you do get a phone interview when you're away you might be able to arrange for you to do it from there maybe?

Also, I'm on my phone so can't quote or do links but if you have a look on the general discussion board there's a thread for blogs and quite a few on there are from the jan applications. Or, my blogs in my sig and I've got some links to jan blogs on there :)

Hi, having spoken to nick from yummy jobs about this I was told that in january the applications will close by the end of january, with phone interviews taking place between mid January and early february and the face to face is being held at the end of feb or early march. It's a shorter time line than the summer applications!

Wow, i just started reading this one and the January telephone interviews and the F2F interview seem a lot quicker than ares, or i am just being stupid and mine were that quick it all seems like a big blur to be honest. I just hope the next 10 months arent a blur, i go on the 6th September so may possible end up by going out with people that have their interviews in January. It really is becoming surreal now!!!!! Keep a record of everything you do as it will be a blur. xx

im totally freaking out that if i did get in the dates would be earlier (as the interviews will be) and i wont get much saved up, i want to be able to go to lads and go out with mates and go for food etc

Oh wow, that IS quick! Thank you so much for that information.

That definitely makes things easier. Not only will the process by over before I go on holiday, if I do manage to get through these stages it'll mean I'll know whether I'm going or not before the climax of my final year of degree hits and I'm swamped with work, so I won't have the WDW application to deal with as well!

the application process is shorter but the dates are still the same for actually going over there, its still roughly for dates between july - december so dont worry!!!

cool im hoping if i get in to get into merch even though less money - although no matter where i end up ill be in stitches everytime i look in the mirror in my 'ye olde englishman' style outfit.

you need to stop converting dollars to £! if your living there and getting paid dollars it makes no difference what it would be in sterling! $50 would do you at least 2 nights out tbh - you can go places that have drinks for a $1....!!! and if you drink before you go out, youl be grand! taxis etc when theres a big group can be as cheap as 2 bucks each etc.....

thanks, it was the only way i could work out roughly what it would equate to as i wasnt sure how much things cost over there :)

sorry yeah, i know, just everyone makes the mistake of trying to convert everything over to £ but it doesnt make any difference really when your there! a night out over there is a lot cheaper than in the UK!!! :)

I lived in Colorado for 9 months, and I still find that such a strange idea. A waiter/waitress I do get, particularly if they're nice and helpful, but a bartender generally gives you about 30 seconds of attention - why should I tip them for that?! (I did it though, because I got glared at if I didn't!)

thats just the culture in america im afraid, you tip pretty much everyone in the service industry, just remember tho that a bar tender will only be working for something like 3 bucks an hour so leaving them a dollar a drink isnt really a lot to ask!!! (trust me, if you work in a bar in america you will soon learn how annoying it is when people dont leave a tip!!!!!)

so they dont spit in your drink lol

also i suppose the more generous you are the more likely you are to get served again quickly if there is a queue at the bar???
