Hi I have GHD straighteners and I just wanted to know if they willl work in the USA? I've read a lot of threads on voltage and straighteners but nothing which specifically says about GHDs.

they will work - but they will take ages to heat up and wont work AS well, u can buy real ghd's out here from the hairdressers at the cross roads - or over at the premiums u can buy some that are as good as ghds from a hair stuff shop - but seriously u wont have time to do your hair most days - u will give up bothering lol ;D

@Kelly - you don't happen to know how much the GHD's are.

I completely agree, don't bother trying to bring your straightener over, even with a converter/adapter, they simply won't be as good. Best to accept defeat and buy a US one if you're so keen on having one. You'll definitely get a decent deal somewhere. :) Happy straightening! P.S. I bought this new amazing one called a T3 Tourmaline Wet To Dry straightener, I never have to blow dry and then straighten after, it does it all in one step. I just put in some heat protector and towel dry a tiny bit and straighten away. MAGIC! Got it for very cheap off EBAY

hahaha, I will always have time to do my hair.
I'm even contemplating flying home to Vancouver on my days off every few months to get my hair cut by my beloved hairdresser.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna have to bring some though. I have extremely frizzy curly hair and ghds are the only things which work on my hair. Do you know how much the ones are that you bought in the states?

  9. jay - you'll have time to do your hair because you don't do anything to it! LOL

I think when I'm working I'll always be stuffing my hair into a braid or a ponytail, but days off I'll do it......maybe.......I'm pretty lazy when it comes to doing my hair some days hehe

Hi guys I just thought I'd let you know that you should check out the 'Yuko' hair straightening system. It means all you'd have to do is wash and condition your hair and it will be all pretty and straight. It is quite pricy but I think it will be worth it...it conditions your hair as it straightens it. Takes most of a day to complete.

Thanks Linzi, i might have to invest in that, my hair is one complete frizz bomb if i don't straighten it
