hey guys - i'm out here and loving it but been having a little bit of a problem. Just got onto the Hub and trying to book my family into a hotel for 5nights but avalibility seems to be at zero. Does anyone know of any reasonable hotels in the area that may not be disney owned but offer a cast member discount? Or even a nice resonable one near the park without a discount if all else fails! thanks
Yes, I know there's some hotels with CM discount, but I don't know which... But if you go to http://www.hotels.co.uk/ and search for a hotel in orlando, and there's a menu to the right where you choose downtown disney area. Those are the good neighbor hotels, that have a lot of buses to the parks. The Regal Sun resort is just two minutes of walking from Downtown Disney, it's pretty good there. I think all the good neighbor hotels have CM discount...
Hi Ally, when is your family planning to travel? I got a room for the end of June at the Caribbean Beach Resort - my son booked it only 4 days ago. It was a lot cheaper than the Holiday Inn with a Cast Member discount. I believe the Coronado Springs also had rooms available for Cast Members to book. If you were only looking at the value resorts though they do go fast - and are usually full. I am not too sure which off property hotels offer the Cast Member Discount, I just called a couple of them and asked. Anyway good luck, I hope you find something at a good price.
I am nervous about this happening for me. I got family coming in April (two groups) and one comeing in the fall of 2009. They are already trying to plan their vacation so I am just praying that as soon as I get the chance that I can book something for them and get them in. When is the first day your able to book something like that. Is it after you have completed Traditions?
Nykki...I am not too sure when the first day will be that you can book your rooms but I do know it will be when you can get on the Disney Hub on the internet because that is where you do the bookings. You probably need an ID number in order to get on the hub so I would assume you would have that within the first week and it probably is after traditions. Just to let you know, I needed to book 3 rooms for the end of January this year - we didn't want a value resort though we wanted to stay at the Polynesian. My son started trying to book rooms for us in early fall and they wouldn't let anyone book rooms on the hub at that time for dates after December 31. He talked to the Managers in the Canada Pavilion and they actually gave him a date when they would be able to book rooms again. I believe it was early December, I can't remember the exact date, but it was for bookings from December 31 on. We were wondering if we would get a room because I guess once they open it up on the Hub they go really fast. We had no problems though and ended up with 3 connecting rooms. So I think you are getting there at the right time and hopefully you can get on the hub and get your rooms booked as soon as you get your ID. You will need a credit card number to book it (and the security code number on the back - if you don't have it with you) plus the name and expiry date and that card will get charged a deposit fee when you book. If you are using the Magical Express to and from the Airport you will need flight numbers, and each persons name. If you don't have the flights yet don't worry about it - just book the Magical Express return trips for the guests and you can provide the flight information later on. Sometimes the resort that you wanted is not available but you will be able to see what else is available for you to book - make sure you have first, second and third choices for hotels just in case. The value resorts get snapped up really fast. Each time I have booked I'm either on the phone when my son is on the hub or I'm on MSN when he's trying to book - that way he can ask me any questions he might need to - it doesn't take that long. That's about all I can help you with. You've got a while to wait yet but don't worry too much about it - I'm sure there will be lots available when you try if they do it the same as they did last December. Hope that helps.
