Me too!!! As much as I didn't really want to reapply!! I was bitter...but I did and got it and it was the best year ever!!! I think it's better to be older when you go...done school...I know lots of people who were finding it hard to want to go back to school after. I have the freedom to go wherever I want now and don't have to worry, so I'm glad I had to wait.

And...I would like to add that I am a complete believer in fate. I met some of my best friends in my time there...we were so completely alike...and I met my best friend ever there. If I had gotten in the first time I would never have met him and would never be this happy.

    Sappy done now.

    Reapply.

Thanks for that Shan....I'm not a great believer in the whole fate thing (particularly when one of my friends tells me 'well, maybe it's not meant to be', after I told her I got waitlisted! gggrrr...it damn well is meant to be), but what you said about your friend is so sweet and kind of maybe makes me think that when I do finally get to go, it'll be the right time for me! :D

I'm probably going to reapply.... but I think that I won't go to the interview out west in the fall, but wait until they come back to ontario... i'm afraid the same thing might happen to me that happened to all the ppl from out west at the ontario interview... stupid canadian weather :p... Anyways, that way I'd be able to go back to school in september and finish out my degree!!! FREEDOM!!!!

Jordana: did you get put on the waiting list? Do they call you at all if there are no positions, or do I just have to wait forever? ???

    Hey

When I was on the waiting list, they only called if they had a position come up. Some people called every once in a while to see if anything had come up, but all you can basically do is pretend it was a no and if something does come up...it's a bonus!

I'm not trying to get anyone's hopes up... I was accepted for a position starting in December... I'm in kinesiology at Western and they won't let me take a year off...kin is a limited enrollment program... it is also limited progression... if you want to take a year off, you must transfer to another faculty... garbage! Anyways, thank goodness there's the summer program, except so very short..

I assume that there are a bunch of ppl that are faced with similar situations as mine, so they have to fill the position with the standby group. Although it is odd that during the March interviews they were filling two positions on the spot starting at the end of March. I would have thought they would've used the standby's.

Pham_tastic i didnt get either why they offered immediate positions starting march and didnt use the standbys from november interviews. There were quite a few at the time. But maybe its cos they changed the process a bit and dont have yellow cards anymore... They are calling the standbys from the feb/march interviews on the plus side. So hopefully more places will come free in september/december for all those still waiting...
Good luck to everyone still waiting for calls.

what i didn't like about the positions available at the end of march is that they just gave them away to the first two people they interviewed that were available! that is so unfair! i was available and by the time they got to me the positions were taken. i was so upset with that.

i know! my interview was in the afternoon and they had given one position away in the morning already. then they gave the second one away to the guy who was right before me. it totally sucked!
i sometimes think that if i had volunteered to have my interview earlier that i might be there right now...

That's so strange! I always assumed that they'd interview everybody and then call the 'immediate position' people back later in the day.

    Yeah, that totally sucks

But Chloe, I do believe they interview all applicants and then offer positions, I was one of the first interviewed and available right away, but I wasn't offered a position, rather I was offered a position for later this year or early next year...

They do offer positions right away sometimes, but I've never been able to figure out what makes them offer it to certain people.
