So, what sould I do about work shoes. I understand that in the candian pavillion, I may need black shoes or hiking boots. Is it better to buy shoes before I leave or when I get there? If I should buy before I leave, does anyone have suggestions on good shoes that are within dress code AND are comfortable? C
Hey hey!! I think what I heard is that it depends on where you're working. Merch. and the NON-Restaurant F&B you wear hiking boots and if you're working in the restaurant you need black dress shoes. If I'm wrong someone correct me..... I think I'm going to just buy a pair of hiking boots before I go down, I already have dress shoes that I can serve in. Nio
There's an outlet mall across the street from the Commons. Wait until you get to the program to buy shoes. Some of the stores in the outlet mall will give you discounts for being a cast member, too. http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=17 It's a good quality mall, too. It has stores like A|X, Escada, Polo...And for Canadians (who might have to get hiking boots), Timberland.
yeah im a bit confused about footwear!!! I dont wann take to many,dunno wether to buy them when we are out ther do we buy disney shoes when we arrive,for working in!!???? thanx natxx
Thats one think I was worried about too. I know I dont go for 9 months yet, but I have a thing about shoes and I know I cant take all my shoes with me (wish I could) coz they will take up too much space. I think it would be a lot easier if you could buy them once you arrive. It will be like our first shopping trip and we can all get matching shoes for work ;D Helen x
Almost everyone I knew down there ( including me ) bought working shoes once we arrived in Florida. You just need simple black shoes, you can get them so cheap at Payless. You should leave that space in your luggage for other stuff ;D Don't bring too much stuff as you will be buying tons and tons of new stuff ( believe me ). Plus extra party outfits. Make sure someone is going to visit you during the year to bring some of your stuff back home Julia
If you are Canada Merch or outdoor foods, you do need brown hiking boots. It can be hard to find them in Florida, so you may want to try to get them at home before you go. When I was there, most of us had Roots boots, just to give you some idea. You can sometimes get them cheap at a Roots outlet...but you can probably find other ones elsewhere. Don't get ones with heavy lining because you're feet will sweat to death. Shan
