Hey I'm flying out to do the CRP on spetember the 7th! I booked to go BA from gatwick at 11:50am due to arrive in Orlando at 4:10pm there time. Is anyone going to book they same flight or is on the same flight???
Not yet but if i book now it's REALLY cheap plus you don't get your visa until about a month before you go and it will be too exspensive then...If i get refused a Visa i'll just go on hoilday lol!!!
Yeah, just been soooooo tired...be warned, the first week is knackering! They don't seem to think about such trivial things as jet lag, I had to be up at 8am the day after I arrived...and some of the Norwegians didn't get in till 2am! Then I've had to be up at 5-6am the last 4 days! Off today and tomorrow though, so I can recover then officially start work in costume on Friday...scary times!...You in F&B?...The hat is attrocious! You will get bored of being tired lol, but I'm starting to feel better now I've had a good nights sleep today and I've adjusted more to the time difference. Make sure you bring enough money with you too...my friend only brough $300 and she'd pretty much ran out by Sunday lol. You excited? I'm Emma btw ;D xx
Hey emma!!! Juts in case i didn't say i'm Lucy!!! Tiredness does sound like.....fun :-\...So have you fineshed your traditions?? I'm totally looking for to the hat now....tbh i din't think they had a hat in the uk costume and yes i will be in F&B. Will you be out there in Spetember you will totally have to show me round lol. Even though your tired are you still loving it? hows your apartment? did you meet people from the uk? have fun and get some SLEEP lol!!! ;D P.S I'm working my butt off this summer to save enough money to go so that should be good
Em - your hat is not as bad as mine was over the summer. I worked at Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Sq - check it out! xx
I could only find tiny wee pictures...but I think our's is still worse haha! At least we only have to wear it when in Chippy, not all the time! Lucy, the apartments are really nice, I'm in with an Italian and 2 Japanese girls and they're lovely. 8 people flats take a bit more getting used to, but my friends that are in them reckon they're alright now after a week. Everybody raves about Patterson, but if you get put in the Commons, Patterson has a nicer kitchen, but apart from that, is pretty much the same...and it doesn't have a bus stop...they have to walk down to Chatham. I've met loads of people from the UK, people are really welcoming to the noobs, got my throw in tonight as well, so should meet them all then. You'll have a crackin time! xxx
Hi Emma! It seems like your having a cool time so far! I'm arriving 2 weeks after Lucy, so both of you can give me the low down when I get there! Which apartments are you in? I'm most worried about the whole living thing, you know moving in after everyone else has been living there for a while, but you've not found any problems? What's the sharing the bedroom thing like? Are you going to join the UK Lasses? (that it the right name??) I'm so excited to get out there in 6 months time!! ;D
Hey Kim, I'm in a 2 bed flat which is just a nice number. My flat all arrived on the same day, so I haven't had the problem of moving into an already established one. I've got 2 Japanese girls and my actual roommate is Italian. They're all lovely, so I've been lucky I guess. I do know of people who hate their flats, but just remember you can request to move after 3 weeks. It'll cost $50, but if you really don't get along with your flatmates, you know you've got the option, and if you know of someone who has an empty room, you can request that specific room. It's not 100% garuanteed that that's the room you'll get, but they'll try their best. I might try lasses on Monday...didn't go last Monday as we had to be up at 6 the next morning hehe. (Some of the Canadians did and were rather late for Discovery Day lol) xxx
Oh this sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to get out there!! The costumes aren't the coolest but hey, its Disney so I won't complain Also about the visa, i haven't got mine yet and I start May 4th... should I be concerned?
Don't worrie I know yummy jobs said you shoudl get your visa appointment 1 month to 3 weeks before you leave if not ring them and ask!!! I'm going September the 7th your going to have to show me the ropes lol!! THe costume may suck but hey everyones wearing it so we are all going to be SO cool!!
Just reading this topic is getting me excited!! Grooveyem, what are the guys costumes like? I will be in F&B too, August 17th arrival date! Roughly how much money have you taken out with you for the first few weeks, if you dont mind me asking? Dave
Hey Dave. The guys costumes aren't that bad...yellow shirt, blue britches (sp?), white socks and a blue baker boy hat if you're in chippy . It's only the girls that have to wear 20 million layers lol. I brought about $700 with me, I haven't spent it all, but thought it better to be safe. You will need a fair bit to get yourself set up. I have a friend who only brought $300 and was left with $16 to live off for about 4 days lol.
Hey emily I know you hae only been there 16 days but so far is it everything you imagined or are you regreting going? Random question but i think it's wuite usful to get opinons from people who are actually out there? ;D
Not regretting it so far. It's really easy to fit in and feel like home..especially from talking to people on here beforehand...makes it a lot easier when you get here! Just don't come with false expectations and you'll be fine...work is bit dull sometimes, but you've got to remember, it's just a job...if you go out thinking everyday is going to be magical, then you will be disappointed...not to scare you, just to say. Having said that...you do get to play hopscotch and hand out stickers to kids ^_^ and you actually get paid to stand and chat to the guests lol.
Hey em, really glad to hear youre enjoying it! Its so exciting hearing about people who are out there! do a lot of people actually ask you stuff about england? what kind of things do you get asked? xx
