a few days ago, i had got a presentation in march. Is that mean I've got a interview opportunity? I am wondering can I communicate with interviewer. coz I cant talk too fast and some words I do not know before. Just like if i see a movie, i understand about 50% only without caption. even to talk;( recently I try to see American drama to learn English. is that disney channel's vobcab is easier? what do u guys think wrong grammar is a problem?anybody have same question such like me?? xx
agreed, where abouts are you from? And i think their english speaking rules are fairly tight.. because you do spend your entire day talking to guests. But i did have a few roommates where there english was questionable.. so you never know
I dont know but I think it is quite important cause u have to be able to' answer customers' questions..
You will never know unless you try. You have about 4-6 weeks to practice and probably you are a good student and can learn intensively. Do you have friends that can practice with you? It all depends on how many Chinese applicants Disney needs and how many apply. If they need 50 and only 70 apply, then you have a good chance. Language is one thing but what else do you do? Your school or work experience is important. Make sure you know all you can about Disney, the theme parks, the cruise ships. Watch some youtube videos. If you can have this happy, magical moment attitude about Disney, it would help. Read in the discussion board, UK and Canada forums - they have an excellent attitude, very enthusiastic about Disney. Warning: Not all of the English is perfect, lot of misspelling and "internet" language - but it should help you anyway. Even English speakers mistake words like "weight" with "wait" and spell "I'll" als "ill". So beware of the mistakes. Nobody expects you to speak English like a native speaker. Also, if it does not work out this time, you can apply again and next time you will be better, because you know what to expect. Try it out and good luck.
Another tip that might help you in an interview is prepare for some standard questions, such as 'why do you want to take part in the program!' 'Why Disney?', 'tell me about where you come from' and others similar to those. That way you can have some good english answers already prepared! I'm sure no-one expects you to be perfect, but as long as your english is good enough to understand questions and give a response well enough to be understood then you should be fine I'd imagine! Good luck
