Revealing my ignorance of the geography here, but how far from the closest town/city and the coast is Disney World exactly?

The reason I'm wondering is that I don't have a driver's licence and I would like to see more then just Disney World when I have days of. I'd like to go to the sea and Florida Keyes (sp?) and I'd also like to find out more about other recreational activities that Disney World might not have to offer and how to get there.

There are buses you can take to several shopping malls, downtown Orlando, the Universal parks, Sea World, etc, but if you want to go further... to the beach for example, you really need a car. A driver's license only costs $20 and you can always rent a car if you don't wanna buy one...

the nearest beach is around an hour away, on the east coast called cocoa beach that is the closest. i mean u can get public transport there, like the greyhound

and as said there are lots of outlets and malls near the commons, u can get around reasonably easily

I don't think the Greyhound is reccomendable... maybe if you're a guy yeah, its safer, but there are a lot of wackos on those buses as it is the CHEAPEST form of transport. The other buses are kinda like that too, the creepiest experience I ever had in Florida happened at the bus stop at Florida Mall... But the trips are not that long then. I guess an hour is OK, but for any longer trip, get a car!

I don't even have a Norwegian license and I'm expected to know the American driving system as well? :p

Hmm... I guess I need to get a friend with a car then ;D
