Is anyone booking their flight through sta travel? and if so did u book it yourself or did you go through the phone number they give you?

Also which airport is it best to go through - MCO or sanford? I know mco is nearer to Disney but do disney still pick people up from both places?

i'm gonna go through STA travel - cos they're about half the price of the normal airline price! DON'T go to Sanford - its a 90 min drive to orlando!!!!!!!!!! Orlando International is best!

Sanford is actually only about 40 minutes from Orlando and you can pick up some bloody cheap flights to there to. I got one for £240 return :D (sorry, still sooooo smug!!). But that was in December right before schools got out so everything was bargain basement, don't expect the same prices in July for example.

BUT - when I went out for my ICP we were very specifically we HAD to get flights to MCO (Orlando International i.e. the main airport) because that's the only place Disney pick up from. Now whether or not they would let you fly into Sanford and then find your own way to MCO to meet Disney I don't know, but I know a few people who were pissed cos they paid £££ more than they had to just because Disney insisted they fly into MCO and not Sanford, and as Brits we had no ground transport...

But who knows? Times may have changed. Lord knows if I go back I'm going to be asking ;o)

I think you are free to arrive any airport but Disney only pick you up @ MCO, if u arrive to Sanford u may have to take a cab o something.

Do we have to book a return flight, then Disney refund the cost of your flight home (if you manage to not get termed, anyway)? Or do they arrange the flight for you??

summer program people dont get any flight paid for as far as i know? you have to arrange your own flights i think. the disney pack will tell u this, on the "step by step guide" thats white and printed by yummy jobs.

People who are going on a Q1 visa and working the year at epcot, you can either book ur own flight or allow disney to book your flight for you. Im getting disney to book my flight as i cant afford to pay it in one lump sum before i go, so i will pay mine back $20 a week from my wages. This amount will then be refunded to me at the end of my program.

When i went for 2 months i flew into sanford but i had to make my own way.

ive booked my own flight - flying with fly globespan from glasgow to sanford and then making my own way to the commons - in a taxi i guess! Booked it myself as i wanted to fly direct rather than having to change planes, wanted to fly from glasgow and i got it pretty cheap (£266) which im paying of every week at the moment so its not bad at all! Just as long as we all make it to florida in one piece im sure we will be ok!!!!!! ;D

Now that's a bugger. And we're the ones who make less and are poor students too! Well I know what I'll be asking people for for my birthday :p

I emailed Yummy and asked what the average price was when Disney booked flights. It doesn't seem to be much more expensive than the average price that most airlines charge... But they also said you don't need to let them know who's booking the flights until your visa comes through so I'm just gonna hang off deciding for now... ;D

OMG they are so much more expensive than I thought they'd be- £420.70 is the cheapest STA has come up with, though that's really awful times of travelling. Best times for going at a sort-of normal time of day (leaving at 9:15, getting there at 4, instead of leaving at 10:30 or 11:30 and getting there at midnight) is £456 return! Geeeeeez!

globespan can be really cheap but they only fly from glasgow i think... however, my friend andy flew from glasgow and a flight up to glasgow and an overnight stay still worked out cheaper than a flight from manchester

For the year programme do we need to book a return flight ??

wasnt planning to as we have 30 days to travel, and dont want to limit myself to one airport, but do we have to prove we are going home at the end to immigration ???

    feb 6th, aahhhh
