    Hi,

I have a F&B position with a departure date on August 19th from Germany.

Have you any Ideas what the disney tickets usually cost? Will I be better of booking myself?

If so, what steps do I have to do?

The disney tickets aren't too bad, it's about the same it would cost for a normal ticket. Last time my ticked cost like $600 from Norway. Today that's actually a lot cheaper then what I will have to pay if I book my own ticket right now!

I'm planning on buying my own ticket because if you go through Disney you have to pay them back while your down there which means more $$ out of your paycheck every week and less spending money ;)

If anything the tickets that Disney buy are a little more expensive than the ones that you can get hold of, one of the major drawbacks is that the Disney tickets are very rarely direct to Orlando, you usually have at least one stop on the way.

And of-course another is that you have to repay them around $25 per week until it is paid off.

You have the option to pay the full ticket once you arrive too!

well, i havent been accepted yet but i have been wondering what is best... isney tickets arent the cheapest, but remember taht they will refund the cost at the end of ur program, so if they buy the ticket for u... it may cist for example 500 dlls and maybe if i buy it will cost me 400 dll... but at the end of the program i get the 500 dlls and maybe can find a ticket back home for the same 400 dlls i was thinkin, that means i have 100 dlls to do whatever i want to do with it ;) u can pay it full when u arrive and that way they wont take money in ur pay... i would prefer that disney buy it for me :p fcourse that is my point of view ;D

I might not have a choice in that matter, because right now I have more bills than I can pay :'( I'm going to have to do whatever I can to work as much as possible and not spend any more money than I have to... I've been nagging my managers a lot lately to get to work as much as possible...

if they take it out of my paycheck, is it a free loan? or do they add some percentage to the price?

    No, they don't add anything...

well, if the ticket is not too expensive, than that option sounds quite good. then i don't have to pay in advance and can use the money i would have spent for what I like...

doesn't disney either pay for flight there OR your return flight?
so if you pay for the flight there do they pay for the return ticket?

No they pay the flight when you're going... You just don't get the money before you've completed the program... So if you decide to leave the program earlier you won't get the money...

I would like to ask if we book the flight (the going way) by ourselves, Does it mean Disney won't pay any tickets for us anymore? OR we still can claim back the $$ of self-booking ticket?

    Thank you!

You get the money no matter who books it... Disney just don't give you the money for it until you've worked your last day there, because if you don't finish the contract they won't pay for the ticket...

Also, does anyone have information on what happens when you drive down? I've heard conflicting stories. At my interview they said Disney would just call their travel agent and pay you the equivalent of a flight from Orlando to your nearest major city, but then Kristen from Yummy said that I needed to keep my receipts for reimbursement. Has anyone done this?

That's exactly what I concern, if we could refund the ticket that is booked by myself. Should we keep the receipt of my booking or Disney would pay only the equivalent of a flight of its choice (as recommend by its travel agent).

Just wonder if Disney refund the whole amount of my own booking. Since I believe if Disney arrange the ticket, it should be cheaper then ours own. ???

They reimburse everything when you book yourself too! Just keep the receipt. They also pay for getting to the airport! I had to take a taxi to the airport because they booked my flight so early in the morning, and the taxi cost $120, they paid everything...
