First few days?

So what exactly do we do in the first few days?
When do we start traditions?

You start traditions on the day it says you start in your Disney letter in your Disney pack (usually two days after you arrive I think...for me I arrive December 5th and my letter says I officially start work/training December 7th).

There are various training days you have to do all of which you will be told about when you arrive.

the first week in general is pretty boring - the first day u fill out loads of paper work saying you agree to all the terms and conditions of the commons etc and you get your comons I.D - dont worry about looking good, NO ONE does in that photo cos u have to get up so early and most people will have ben to a throw in the night before so youur all tired and look like crap - so its all good lol.
Second day is your social security day i think - (cant remeber in what order) u have to gt a social security number to allow you to work in the usa then the rest of the day off - so u can go to walmart etc, the next day you get a bank account etc then the rest of the day off.
Then there is traditions - lots of people say its really boring but if you love disney etc - u will have a good day, u find out all about the history etc ad what its like to work for the mouse and you get to go to magic kingdom for lunch - that day you also get your disney id and your disney name badge for work.
After that you have your discovery day where you get to discover your work place (im assming epcot) they tell you about it etc where things are and you have lunch etc there and you go on a ride or something like that - then u are taken to your own pavillion - dont know what othes do but for the uk you get to see where you will be working etc and u meet the managers and a few cast members depending on whos doing what etc
its a tiny bit intimidating when you see al the people you will work with but HONESTLY everyone is great - we were all knew once so dont worry about it!!

ok the way i look at it is if you were shy you would NOT have got this job, disney recruiters (apart from the ODD bad egg) are very good at picking people to work here - we all get on great - there isnt one person here i dont like and we all eat sleep and brethe each other - you find u get close to people VERY quickly here, u dont thnk twice about going rould someones apartment in your pj's and slippers - we all jus get on great and its such a fun place to be and its an AMAZING experience! ;D

 

*whimper* I want a start date even more now *sniffle*

I'll be there by this time next year for sure ... but the sooner the better. I can't wait to get to know everyone! Yay! Sounds like so much fun, and I know it will be!

 

Well I will be the "OLD GIRL" of the bunch and in THAT WAY, I am NERVOUS!! I may be up in age on the ol birth certificate BUT....don't LOOK IT NOR ACT IT!!

I am alittle intimidated as well.......going to somewhere new......meeting new people, but I have this STRANGE TALENT of being able to talk to ANYONE!!! LMAO

I live with 2 other gals now so living with someone will not be a huge issue!!! I am just so SHOCKED still that we are working for THE MOUSE!!

So many changes and yet it will be second nature in NO TIME!!!

Kel thanks for posting what the first few days are going to be like. It helps when the ones that are there now explain what we are going to expect!!

How far away is the TARGET??? I admit I am NOT a huge WALLY WORLD fan so I was hoping I MIGHT be able to hit a TARGET???

Hey thanks for all the great info!! It's really fantastic to have such detail. I was a little worried over what would be expected in the first few days but it sounds like you get a bit of time to adjust.
