So if I get in to Orlando at 3/4pm local time. What happens from then on in? Im just thinking on what I should bring out with me. Id rather get things like my Duvet, pillows and cover out there.
We get in the same time and i'm trying to figure it out myself. I figure it'll take about 2 hours to get to Vista after we land, which takes us to about 5pm, say an hour to check in at Vista and get to our apartments (this may be wildly wrong, I guess it depends on how many people are checking in) then say half an hour to dump your stuff and half an hour to get to a bus out to Walmart. Ta Da! It's only guessing but I would say we have enough time to get out to Walmart, it is a 24 hour store. There better be time because i'm not taking a lot of stuff with me!
This whole timing thing is my biggest concern at the moment. I'm planning on going out a week before my start date to do some chillaxing, get a car sorted (hopefully!) & other random things. I will be getting a rental car too which I need to figure out when I can take it back after I've checked in at Vista (so I have it to go to Wal-Mart in case I don't manage to find my own car in the first week) I'm getting slightly ahead of myself here though, I don't go until february!
yeah i have been considering the whole car rental and coming out a few days early thing. You must be loaded to afford buying a car out there! lol what with insurance tax and gas to pay. I'l buy a car when Im tipped. Have my heart on a Jeep soft top. Anyway. didn't like the idea of "holidaying' on my own. So slightly gone off the idea. 24hr walmart is good. I dont sleep anyway. Plus wont be able too as i'll have no bed covers ;D
Walmart may be 24 hours but the buses aren't...if you plan on being there after that last bus pick up (which is either 12.45am or 1.45am...I can't be sure) then you'll need to get a taxi home. It's not that expensive though.
Yeah, I'm definitely going out early. Im thinking November 29th. Then Il hire a car for a week. That'll give me time to get things together.
On day 2, you get right into things. There is some orientation stuff in the morning but then you have the afternoon off. This is what happened for us at least. The same goes for the 3rd day as i well i believe.
yes same here, things happening early in the morning and we were done by around 1-2 pm. alot of things going on through, visit to epcot and the pavillion you will work in, classes, introductions, training at work... takes time to get in to it all, but it is all new and exciting so it is not very boring. however once you have been there a couple of weeks all you do is go to work and then do whatever you want the difficult part was being hangover and getting up early for those classes and work....hehe.
yes seeing they still has got the same schedule i just vaguely remember being back at the commons fairly early in the first few days. but it was busy though as the classes start early and it is alot to take in, plus the annoying jet lag creeps up after a while. i was so busy and partying too that my jet lag came after one week. after my first day of training at work i was exhousted, fell asleep in 1 sec! hehe.
I'm going out a week before I start so hopefully my jetlag will have dissipated by then & I will be on Florida time!
That is very ideal although part of the fun was going on the plane with the rest of the people arriving same day
