Fastpass for castmembers?/Castmembers IDs MERGED TOPICS!

Does anyone know if as a castmember you can use Fastpass when you visit the parks off duty???

I was just wondering as to use it you must have a ticket, and since we will get in free we won't have ticket media to use in the machines.

Any thoughts?

Yeah you can definitely get fastpasses- think you might just use your cast id like you would a normal park pass at the fastpass bit!

Yeah I think it worked the way Charlotte said....I never used one though so I wouldn't know for sure. I always went to the parks when it was slow.

Charlottes right - you can use your cast ID in the fastpass kiosks instead of a regular ticket.

Or you could do what we did and just try and blag them off the CMs working fastpass!! We went to MK before we got our IDs and managed to blag our way in and blag fastpasses for all the rides!! We had about 6 fastpasses at the same time!!! Great times!!

My sister worked at Disney last year at Epcot. When i went round the parks with her she just used her ID - it gets you everywhere! I cant wait to get my 20% off all the Disney merchandise - going to be taking home a whole suitcase of stuff!

Since we are there for a whole year we will surely learn when the best times to go to the parks are... I was there last October and a lot of the fast passes were down as the normal line-ups were very short...

On the really busy queues (like often more than an hours wait) they have fastpass kiosks. You put your ticket in and it prints you out a litle slip of paper with a time on to come back and you can then skip a load of the queue.

Yes your castmember ID is better than American Express, I never go out without it!!!! Is your master key to everything, to enter to work, for parking lot, your ticket for the parks, your ticket for fastpass and discounts on the outlets, dennys, McDonalds, I hop, etc...!

So, you get 12 maingate passes per year (after you are there for 3 months) but if you just want to go with some other people from work or something - do you need to use a maingate pass? I guess what I am trying to say is do you get unlimited entrance to the parks with your cast member ID?

 

If you are all castmembers, then you all just use your individual IDs to get in...but everyone has to have their ID.

You use your Maingate to get in your friends and family. You get one every year...but here is the bonus that most people don't realize. The "year" ends in December...not with your leaving date...so you'll get a new one in January. I arrived in August which was awesome because it split my year into half. I'm only from Canada so I had lots of visitors and did manage to use quite a few of my entrances. If you need extras, you can get your friends from overseas to help you out because they rarely use all of theirs.

Ruben...I noticed that you mentioned your id is good for discounts at the outlets...would that happen to be the outlet mall nearby, or just the stores in Disney?

Not that I'm a shopoholic or anything but it would be soooooo nice to have discounts outside of Disney too!!

Not just the Disney stores by far!!! Ask everywhere!!!! Lots of stores in the outlet mall give "Disney Discount"...several of the car rental places (although you have to go through the local number...the 800 number call centres don't usually know about it)...even Ron Jon Surf Shop way out in Cocoa Beach gives one!

Wow Shan, I didn't even know the thing about getting a new maingate pass end of the year. I arrived in October, so I got my maingate pass in January and had it for the whole time I'm there. Didn't even use half of it though! And definitely agree with the discounts thing, always ASK, you will be surprised on what stuff and where you will get discounts.

Okay, I'm sure if I looked reallllly hard I could find my answer SOMEWHERE on here, but a quick skim through left me nothing!

I assume we need our castmember ids to get free admission to the parks for ourselves? How quickly do we get them? My parents are going to be in Orlando in early September and it would be cool to go to the parks with 'em before they leave. I "start" September 6th - when will I have my ID by? Do I need it to get into the parks?

As well, Eric said I start Sept 6th (as mentioned above). Does that I mean I should arrive sometime on the 6th or actually have to be in training/orientation on the 6th?
