Hey..I was just wondering I'm in F&B right now but I'm not sure if I should stay. If I had the opportunity to change to merchandise, should I change? I have never worked in Foods ever and it seems that being a server is a lot of work. I want to be able to talk to guests and have fun with them etc.. Should I stay or should I go?
Thats totally a decision for you, F&B is stressful once you get into food running/serving, but really you wont have time for much guest interaction at all in it. I can speak from what I've been told (I just arrived for merch) is that we're overstaffed at the moment so the chances of you getting switched soon are pretty slim. I'd come down for foods anyway becuase you wont be doing much of the stressful stuff for a few months and see what happens, you could enjoy it and possibly get an opportunity to move to merch or even attractions (you do have time for guest interaction there as well).
thanks! I'll take at that into consideration. I just don't want to rip myself off of a better experience. I don't want to be unhappy in my position!
Yeah totally understandable but I believe at this point if you wanted to switch you would most likely have to re-interview and could possibly rip yourself off of the experience entirely! Best thing is to come down and see what happens. Last year around this time for various reasons Canada merch was trimmed down to 4 people. You never know what could happen and a spot could open for a transfer at any time.
