The package i got says "near freezing" in the winter.... at 8 celcius. ...8 degrees is flip flop and short pants weather in my town. What i want to know, is should i bring a jacket, and how thick of a sweater? I have a peacoat which is quite heavy, and i love it, but do i need it down there? i dont wear it everyday, and our temps are around 10 during the days right now. Will i need it for the winter months? also.. i LIVE in a zippy or a hoody... how often does someone wear a sweater? (about 1/2 of my suitcase would go to sweaters if i had my way, but i know i wont need them all.)
I also have a winter jacket, the kind with the zip out lining. I wont need my winter jacket will i? should i just bring the inner shell?
You wont need much winter clothes. It mostly cold in the mornings and it feels VERY cold because of the humidity, daytime is much warmer. The chefs in the kitchen of the Norwegian restaurants laughs at us norwegians in the winter, because they think we should be used to it
Hey, I'm from southern Ontario and I've visited WDW a couple of times during the winter (usually at Christmas). It really can vary how cold it's going to be. There *are* times when it can get to around 0*C and there's frost. I would be prepared to have days where you want to layer up a couple of sweatshirts, or wear a thicker jacket... that is, unless you really don't get cold easily. Also, depending on when you arrive you could also be used to the warm weather and find the cold weather much colder than you usually would! <3 Jenn
One of those lighter jackets would suffice. The ones that are like nylon-ish. Those are good. Zip-ups & hoodies are amazinnggg, and you can def. use them for the bus ride to work at 4am! haha. But during the day it's HOTHOTHOT. I'm from SW Ontario too and I know I'm defn' going to overheat there, as I'm only there for the summer.
i was in orlando on vacation in december and it was very cold. on the first day i went out in shorts and t shirt and had to go back to the hotel to put on pants and hoody. i wouldnt take many warm clothes with you though, because you can buy them when it starts to get cold and they will take up alot of space!
That would probably be around 10 - 10.30am since World Showcase opens at 11am Only us Norwegians start really early because of our character breakfast...
Yeah I like it too and it's so nice to meet all the princesses. Even though I work with them everyday
You probably wont need anything too warm, but I found even last summer that I got used to the heat pretty quick...so in the morning it was still a bit chilly, same thing at night. And (especially when you've just been stuck in the rain, or at night) the buses are freezing from the air conditioning! We were down a few years ago in January and I didn't wear shorts or tshirts much at all...maybe it's just me. I'd take at least a couple of hoodies. I don't think you'll need anything as heavy as a peacoat though. I'm just going back for the summer and I'll probably take 2 or 3 hoodies with me. Don't forget you can always just buy something there too! That's what I'd do, depending on when you arrive!
Thanxs TinkTingeling haha I was a bit worried then seeing as 4am is my normal bedtime most nights lol nah I'd be fine with a 7am start but I thought 4am was a bit much U poor Norwegians mind u I'd love to meet the princesses ^_^
I've never acually been to Florida or the east coast of North America for that matter lol. But even though we think of Florida as a hot sunny place with beaches etc. winter is winter and it still gets cold at night...I know it's not exactly the same but I went to Disneyland in California in November last year and was surprised how cold it was at night...well I guess it's not cold compared to BC in winter (or nearly as cold as Ontario lol) but anyway I guess we just gotta be prepared. And if it does get cold we can all buy disney scarves and gloves hehe (I got some when I was in DL cuz they had the Xmas stuff out )
Yep I'm from BC and yep I'm applying in June ;D I was too late for the February interviews last time so I'm applying again right on June 1st lol. Are you from BC too? I know you're from the west coast of Canada so you're somewhere near by
To be honest, I'm probably going to bring my winter coat. It has a zip out liner so it can be used as a raincoat, or a light coat. You could probably just have a sweater or two under your liner, but it's easiest to bring the whole jacket for me. You definitely won't need it in the summer, but if it gets cool in the winter, or when it rains it could be useful.
I want to go ASAP lol ;D But I know that the next round of interviews for us is around September and the next possible time to go is next spring so this time next year As for clothes, I think that a rain jacket would be useful because I've heard of the torrential downpours and thunderstorms that Florida gets lol
i agree! a rain jacket is a MUST ive been down there in june/july and it POURS everyday for a couple of hours usually accominied by a lightning storm too! crazy weather!
