hey to all you beautiful people! I'm brand new on this board, and actually applied for the program just a few days ago (so excited!!!!) here's my question....sorry if it may seem stupid, but i'd rather know before hand.... well, i read on the disney site that the ideal candidates for the program must "authentically represent one of the countries or regions recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney World® Resort" well my dilemma is: I am of asian origins, thought my family been living in italy for more than 25 years (I got to Italy when i was 6 months old...). So, even if I feel 99% italian i'm not sure if for the Disney people I can really represent this beautiful country....I know it might seems qute a silly question, but the thing is Italy unlike other countries like Canada, Uk or Us started becoming a multi-ethnic society only in the last few years... I don't know if this might be problem, but thinking about Disney policies about tolerance and non discrimination this shouldn't be an issue....just wanted to hear from you guys if your ethnic origins did represent an obstacle in getting selected in representing your home country... thanks a lotÂ
hey girl i wouldnt worry!!! i no its a little different but im american but i grow up in the uk so ass long as i understand and represent the culture in the uk it doent matter wat colour ur skin is!! hope i help but if ur still worried email jason and ask!!!
Hey there! It will definitely not be a problem for Disney. I knew a girl who worked in the norwegian pavillion and she had asian origins and a girl in France who had south african origins. There were tons more as well. BUT I have to tell you that the IQ of half of the tourists visiting will be much below average. You will most likely hear a lot of comments and stupid questions from them. I think it's ridiculous, but just want to warn you. Even the girls/guys in Norway and Germany that were originally from the country they represented were sometimes told we are not "real" germans or norwegians because our hair is dark. ??? : People can be very stupid. Julia
thanks a lot Julia, I thought it woulndt be a problem... as for the IQ for the guests, I can imagine that, and actually is not a problem at all to me....I'm used to silly questions and dont ever get offended even by stupid questions (it's simply not worth it It's just so fun to surprise people who take everything for granted ;D Nammy
ciao, io zona lago di garda (desenzano) a 15 km dal disneyland nostrano (ovvero gardaland.... ho appena mandato l'application per cui mi sa che se mi va bene verro' intervistato ad ottobre...tu? conosci altri italiani qui? sarebbe bello aprire un forum in italiano cosi almeno ci conosciamo un po'.....continuando pero' a postare in inglese nei forum generali (non isoliamoci to all the folks who don't speak italian (we don't want to be unpolite....) i live in northern italy, between Milan and Venice, near italy's biggest lake (garda lake)...which is, by itself, a tiny-mini version of Orlando with italy's biggest theme park - Gardaland surrounded by many other smaller parks - mostly water parks....anyone been to Gardaland? what do you think? (Disney trivia: Walt himself visited this park with his wife during one of his long trips in Europe...he wanted to see how theme parks were laid down here in the old continent....) ;D
