Not saying there won't BE anything, but when I was there only 2 months ago, there was nothing planned.

However the Year of A Million Dreams was just starting and Epcots 25th will be right near the end of it so that could be a reason, but I know it was a concern of many of the full timers there that nothing was going to happen.

    mmm:(
Today it was the press conference, however, nothing bout Epcot's 25th!!! :( The big news today was about Toy story mania announced in the conference. Hope to see any news later on, I'm surprised how Disney is not making a big celebration

Well you also got to think about it this way... it is currently WDW's 35 anniverssary and while that's not as special as a number as 25, how much is going on about the 35th? (I saw some pins while I was there and 35 on some merch and that was it).

I have good news and Bad news!!
The bad news is that Brad Rex, Vice President of Epcot, told in an interview that there is nothing big planned for epcot's 25th :(
However, the good news is that there will be private events for cast members!!
    Here's the interview:

"O Canada! in the Canada pavilion is going to be updated and the new movie will possibly debut in summer or early fall."

Well, that's exciting! I was just talking to a co-worker who went to Epcot a few years ago, and while he loved the movie, he said it was really obvious that it was made YEARS and YEARS ago.

And interesting to note: I start in the summer :O Maybe I'll be one of the first Attractions Hostesses to introduce the new movie!

Kind of dissapointed they're not celebrating 25 though - it's a good round number you only hit once.

Good news!! Screamscape.com has posted this article:

Park News - (2/14/07) Several Epcot fans are now officially ticked off at Disney after a statement was made by Brad Rex (VP of Epcot) that Disney wouldn’t be having any kind of 25th anniversary celebration for Epcot on October 1st, 2007. Angry and disappointed, fans of Epcot are taking matters into their own hands and are planning to hold their own unofficial celebration and inviting everyone to join them at the park on October 1st, 2007. Currently the event is free for registration and you can pull up information on their efforts here. You can also read more about what’s going on and the public reation at the Epcot Central blog.
Perhaps if there is enough interest, Disney will take notice and decide to have some kind of celebration on their own as well, in the meantime Monday, October 1st is a great time to visit Orlando. I’m predicting that the start of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal will begin the weekend just before and Epcot usually kicks off the annual Food & Wine Festival around this time too. If I manage to show up in town for Horror Nights that weekend, then it would be a blast to visit Epcot on October 1st.

Yey!! Looking forward to October 1st!
