just a quickie from me (again) since we have our visa's already do we have to fill out any waiver forms online?xxx
The waiver is part of the VWP, or Visa Waiver Program. As you have a visa, you don't need any waivering. So in short... No.
The waiver will only cover you for 90 days, and won't cover you to work. It's for holiday makers who don't want or need the hassle of going through the process of getting a visa.
Nope, wave your passport with Visa Page and hand them the form which you will need to fill in on the plane. That's all We've just been grilled for an hour about that if we loose this slip we fill in on the plane that it causes ALOT of problems with the government and costs $320 for a new one
they give you the slip on the plane yes? do you need a different form from those without visas? just wondering if i'll have to draw it to the attention of the cabin crew or whatever
At the airport i said i was on a Visa and they gave me a white slip. On the plane everyone was given the white and a green slip. For those on a work visa the white form is important so i guess it's not important for holiday guests. Don't worry. Just say your on a Visa if they don't check ( and they should )
thats great cheers for clearing that up, was totally confused as to what i was meant to be doing right now, just dont seem to be doing as much as i feel i should to be getting organised (thats a bit scary that the little white form is so important :S). so another qu if you dont mind answering my rambles... see when you get to the bit where you have to do your "entry into america" and they check your passport/visa etc do we stand in the non-U.S residents queue or is there a different queue for folks who have visas? i have a pretty tight turn around in detroit so every little piece of info helps
We went into the regular Holiday Goers Que. once you get off the plane. Just tell them your here to work and give them your I979 with the passport and white form you've just filled in on the plane. They'll sign it all, stamp them and away you go.
Yeah when I was last there they kept stressing about not losing that form. . as it costs $320 to replace. . and also it can take a few months. . so if you do lose it, lose it at the beginning of your problem and not the end or could have trouble leaving the country! though they usually staple it in your passport, so it is very hard to lose. . unless you lose your passport of course. only thing that happened to me which made me worried was when I arrived at customs they told me to go wait in this room while they took all my forms! I was a bit worried thinking "oh no ive been scammed by some dodgy company and im about to be deported!!". . but then you get in the room and theres a room full of similar looking people with mickey stickers on their shirts! so if that happens all theyre doing is processing your paperwork!
I luckily wasn't put into a separate room but the person at customs did seem to think i needed an extra form. After saying tht was all i needed, i got my stamps and was on my way
I think i was either with someone who was tired or just liked the look of me, cos i arrived with 9 other people doing the program and they all got took into a room and she said to me in front of everyone 'No honey your fine!' and i was just like cheers, later!
