Has anyone ever applied for a Visa and gone to Belfast? Im going to book my visa appointment today and cant decide wether to go to london or belfast? The thing is, i know my way around london, whereas if i flew to Belfast i have no idea where the embassy is in relation to the airport. However London has long waits, and ive known people to be in and out of Belfast within an hour
I havent applied for mine, but since I'm Irish it'll be a different embassy. All I can advise is to look up and find out where the belfast one is in relation to the airport so that if you do take that route you dont spend the same time or even longer than going to London, looking for the embassy.
yeh i thought that... id rather go to london as i know exactly where im going so ive booked it, 20th feb, im so excited!!
Hi Jilly! Didn't they ask u at your interview to which embassy u wanna go? Cause I think it's writen on the petition u get. ??? In Germany you have to tell them in advance to which embassy u wanna go. Chrissi
yep i noticed after i booked it that it says london on the petition! all sorted now, flights and hotel are booked too ;D
Hi, hope you don't have to wait to long while your at the embassy. Just incase anyone else reads this thread. If you do come to Belfast, you can get a bus from the Internation Belfast Airport to the City Centre approx: 45min - 1 hour journey or if you are lucky enough to fly into the George Best City Airport its a 10 min taxi/bus journey. Either way if you make it to the City Centre the visitors 'Welcome Centre' is across from the Bus Stop and they can give you exact directions. I believe its just another short bus journey from the City Centre to the US Embassy/Consulate. I hope this is useful. I applied yesterday so hopefully I'll be able to make this journey, through its not to bad as I live in Belfast, I guess.
wait for 5 million hours to have ur number called up, and then they call u up, take ur paperwork, then u wait another 5 million hours while they process ur paperwork, then they call u up again, ask a few questions ad then tell u that ur visa is authorised.
how/when do they scan your fingerprints?? is there a wee machine that you have to stick your hands into or is it take getting your finger prints taken?!
its just a wee blue thing thats like scans ur index finger and ur thumb as far as i remember and the questions are just stuff like, what are you going to be doing in america, do you have any family over there, just stuff like that.
i was only asked one question this time - so why do you want to work for disney world? and i answered with - becouse it doesnt rain as much!
Sorry if I'm totally off here. I just saw something about a blue finger scanner and I couldn't figure out whether you're talking about something at an embassy or the ones at Disney. If it's the ones at Disney, I'm pretty sure they're not scanning your fingerprint, but just calculating a number based on the dimension of your finger which they use to verify your card. Again, sorry if I'm confused and this post makes no sense.
