Ok I know I am getting ahead of myself but...

I was looking at flight prices and they are in the region of 800! Arrrgh!!!! I tried sta/ba/aa/virgin
(and I was quite proud of myself as I have never been on a plan before and managed to find names of airports that fly Scotland to Orlando) ok I’m sad. Anyway, they are all sooo expensive. I will be 26 in a couple of weeks and therefore if I went next year would not be a student and not be under 26 to get a discount with sta. Anyone got any tips/advice etc?

And I know I haven’t even applied yet lol, and I am not thinking I’m def getting in (as if) just need to work out how much this whole experience is going to cost me including savings to take over there, so I know I can afford it.

Good tips in general are to break up your flight. See what it costs to New York, as flights between the UK and NYC are common. Also, see if it's cheaper from Heathrow or a London airport.

I'm in the same boat. Flights from South Africa to Orlando are about £1200, but flights from Johannesburg to New York are £700, and about £50 from NYC to Orlando. Use skyscanner.net.

basically looking at it it looks like getting a single flight is around 700...but to get a return is 500 and your saving 200 with a ticket you dont even need...

thats what i'm planning to do and then change the return flight date when i get there...

You could try getting the ISIC for Youth Travelers... ask in a travel agency how they can help you!

Yes that's what I'm doing, I did post the same in another thread. A return one year flight is £450 to change the date is £75. If you cancel the return ticket you can claim back airport taxes and get £30-40.

I was looking at flights for Florida this time last year and they were really expensive then too, if you wait till after new year then they should drop in price! I booked a flight in April of this year for September of this year and it was around £480 for a return. My friend that came with me booked hers a few weeks before we left and she paid £650 its just a case of looking out for price changes. I think it also depends on when you are looking at going because my dad and his wife are flying out there on the 4th of November and their flights were cheaper than mine :)
Also if you get a transfer flight via New York its alot cheaper and not that stressful just takes longer obviously hehe! Hope this helps :)

your best bet will be edinburgh to Newark and the Newark to MCO. I do that flight a lot, tho depending on time of year it can be more expensive during the English summer hols (the beginning of the scottish ones are never quite so bad!) I always fly with continental.

But yeah the flight prices will be on a constant change in price too, but midweek flights are always cheaper.

Try the likes of opodo or kayak for all the options.
Also remember that on completion of the program disney gives you this money back, you can see it as an investment! My first time out I got a decent amount of money back from disney and my flight home cost less so in the end I kinda made money!

I just did a random check for my dates and so far it's quoting me around 600 for a one-way ticket.
