does anyone know if they put people from same countries in housing?

it depends, you may get roommates from the same country as you. If you want it or not.

And if you absolutly want to you can move in with someone from your own country.
Or you can move out if you don't want to live there. NO PROBLEM!
I lived with another norwegian and two germans for 4months. It was great, but you end up talking your own language.
In one way I wish I had just other nationalities, but I had so much fun with my girls so I don't really regret it either.

In another way, you don't stay home much, so it doesn't matter who you live with, you'll spend more time in other apartments or at work so you just need a bed to sleep in really ;)

IMO is more exciting to share the apartment with dif nationalities.

Same here. I'd much rather be living with people from all over the place

You are all mixed up...that's the point of the program. They only put people from the same countries together if they have too because there is no other space. I had two norwegians, but it was only for like 8 weeks. They don't really like to move you into an apartment with someone else from your country either if they can help it. You meet more people from other countries if you're mixed together!

Also they told me that there's a chance to have someone of the same nationality as your rommie but most of the tmes you will be witn someone from Canada , UK, Botswana, China, Mexico , France hehehehe and also think its more exciting ! :D

Yes... It's more interesting but it can also be difficult to live with someone with totally different ideas about how to keep an apartment!

That's part of the adventure, trying to figure out how to make it all work. At least that's my view on it, that may change when I get there though....

Sort of on the same thought wave....

....does anybody know if our roommates are people that arrive on the same day, or do they throw you in with a mix of people that have been at WDW for a while?

Not that it matters, but I'm curious!

I'm not sure... but I think you are mixed up with people that have been for a while.

I'm really looking forward to having roomies from all over.  I can live with Cdns back in Canada, right? :p

I'm pretty sure that you will go through at least a few roomies during your year.  It's possible that one or more of your roomies could be arriving the same day as you, but people are arriving and leaving at all different times, so I'd bet that it's more likely that you would be the only new roomie on your arrival day.  Although, I guess you're more likely to be arrving the same day as one of your roomies if you're going to be living in one of the 4 bdrm apts vs. a 1 bdrm.

Speaking of the # bdrms.... what would everyone prefer if you had a choice?  I think I'd love a 2 or 3 bdrm apt.  I get the feeling a 4 bdrm would just be crazy and a 1 bdrm might just be too quiet with only one roomie.  Of course, I'm just thrilled to be going, so it really doesn't matter too much to me.

Like everything down there with apts... it's just the luck of the draw.

    Sandra :)

    Hi Sandra,

I think I'd preffer to share the room with up to 4 persons... those apartments for 8 people sound like a real mess for me.

Imagine trying to cook something, or taking a shower.

As you said, living just with 1 roomie might be too quiet.

I totally agree with you Sandra, 2-3 rooms would be great to have a mix of people but not so many that its crayz in there. Living with people from all over is one of the highlights of the program for me. I hope to make friends from all over and what better way than through Disney?

    See you in Florida,

I think that I could handle living with 8 people for a year.... I mean it's only 1 year and what better way to get to know people then live with them, sure it would be crazy, but....I think that it would be interesting. I mean with that many people there would be people moving in and out all the time...it would just be interesting. You'd just have to learn to work around each other.
