I know we have this medical insurance...but is that for just like hosptial treatment. Does anyone know how it works in US? Cos here we have docs for minor stuff and then hosptial for bad stuff. I thought the med insurance was for hosptial but i guess we pay for going to regular GP bloke? Do they have GPs in US? And where is our GP? I need to get prescriptions when im over there do i go to the hosptial or wot im confuseeeeeeeeeed Any other girlies thought about their pill situation? Do we have to buy it now or are u thinking wot im thinking and going to england GP and getting like a years supply Cos i dont wanna have to be buying it over in USa. Someone told me they buy it in the pharmacys. x help.
If it helps, i'm in the same situ. But if you get a family member to get your prescription from your uk docs, then you can just get them posted over. I checked it out with my docs, it's not like they're posting hard drug into the country is it? Plus, how many people buy medicine type stuff over the internet and then get it sent? Probably won't be that much of a problem. Any help? :-\
just aware that the pill in the us is very expencive and pharmasist have the right now in several states to not give it out on moral concerns. I had my GP give me 15 months and she advised my pharmacy that i was goign away for a year and they let me take out all 15 months at once to cover me for the whole year. Just make sure when your going through security that you have a copy of the prescription and that they all have your name on them.
That's cool that your doc would let you do that cos my doc in the uk wouldn't give me an advance beyond 6 months. Dunno why....
you could be right. I dunno, maybe it's different by country? As long as they don't arrest me and my mum for trafficking drugs, i'll just get her to send them over! lol
i went to the dr the other day and explained the situation ie i was going away for a year and he gave me a years supply of the pill so im ok for that ;D
This is somewhat related, but check the expiry dates on your pills before leaving! Even if they are a good few months away, but the time August of next year rolls around whatever you have left may have already expired. ~ Jen
im seeing my doc next week. the receptionist says she doubts i'll be able to gt a year. she said they usually dont do more than 6months. but we'll see wot mr doc says. dont wanna be paying shed loads for the pill in america. x
lol, yeah---- about getting drugs/medicines in america.... don't.. as it's very expensive.... some drugs are even up to ten times more expensive in the US than in Europe.... So make sure you get enough of whatever you need before you go, or just have your family send it over.... hm, that's strange though that some of you don't get supplies lasting longer than 6 months... I always get for 16 months ;D ;D ;D
my dentist gave me some kinda anti biotics for my wisdom teeth just as a precaution incase they start painin me!
Yeah definitely try not to see the doctor over there! My sister once had an ear infection and it cost about £100 to see the doctor and £30 for the prescription! I may have got those confused with $ but I didn't think so! It was ok since we could claim off insurance- but thats expensive stuff! Charlotte x
During my year I got a tonsillitis and had to go to the doctor. It cost me 20 Dollars to see him and 9 for the prescription. BTW I had the Disney insurance. They give you a list with all the doctors in your area and you have to choose one.

You have to choose between different insurances. I took the cheapest, but I think a didn't took the dental care ( have good teeth ;D). I think I payed about 6,50$ a week. But if I remember it right you get this money back if you have your own insurance e.g. I got always a few cent back because I didn't took the dental care... I just choosed the one from Disney because I didn't want to pay the costs for the doc in advance and have all the trouble to get the money back. Chrissi

hey guys, i only got a supply for 3 months....nice doc...since i'll be away for a year im not covered here in germany no more and the doc wouldnt give me more, so now, i have to get my mom to buy it for me here...fortunately its not that expensive anymore.....it sucks to worry about stuff like that ...........anyway.......7 more days to go ;D
Hey guys, my doc only gives me 6 months at a time so when I found out I had the job I told her and give me another appointment in between the 6 months so just to get some more, the last time I went to see her I was 3 months short of the yr and would not give me anymore!!!! so a mate gave me hers (I know we shouldn't do it but they are the same) I'm sorted now!!!
