You only get like 3 paid days off. The rest will be unpaid holiday. I also flew home for 10 days, because I wanted to visit friends and family. For the last part of my contract I also went on the cruise for 7 days and on another vacation with a friend of mine for 2 weeks. You just have to see how much money you will have and if you can spare on getting paid for 2 weeks. In merch it's always tough, because you have like no money whatsoever, but for the f&B people it usually works out fine.

It really depends which pavillion you work for. Some have nice fancy restaurants and some just buffets. You won't be earning much in the beginning, as you will be outside on the carts or behind a buffet. You are not allowed to accept tips either. Once you moved indoors you will be a buzzer, the servers will share a bit of their tips with you. In the end you will finally be a server and make the big cash. It again depends on the pavillion and the situation in the park ( will it be a slow time or around christmas that you get into service ) if you will get huge tips or just enough to live. Once you are in the serving position you only getlike 2.50 per hour but you can keep your tips. Some friends of mine made 100 a day, on very busy days it was even between 200-250 a day. You will always have enough to live a good life. Usually the servers made the same amount of money in a day than we did in a week.

You will definitely not go there for the job! LOL Mine was sooo boring most of the time and I'm not exactly into dolls, nutcrackers or coo coo clocks either.

You will be able to get the time off, but you have to request it as early as possible, so they won't be understaffed. It will also depend on senority a little. So it will be doubtful that you get a whole week off in your first few weeks, because others will already have planned their vacation. When the park is slow they are usually happy to have people taking time off though.

Any one know how they feel about letting us go home (USA) for like 5 days for a Graduation in the first few weeks?

They might give you the time off but you will definitely not make yourself very popular for them and your fellow cast. Many people request back to backs ( Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off ) weeks and sometimes months before they actualy go and so you will be the last in the line. Nevertheless you should check the situation once you are there as no one can predict what it will be like. Maybe it will be slow and you will easily get the time off...
