Just wondering if anyone else is going to pop along to the auditions tomorrow? 10am at Pineapple Is it really really sadistic that I'm going for fun? I can't actually start when they're auditioning for cause I'll already be doing my thang on ICP haha... On the other hand, the next auditions if similar to last year will probably be at the end of august/early September so I'll still be out there. I'm thinking of using that as an excuse to do these. Not that I will be able to do those dates either! Hehe.
Hey Beth, I was actually gona go to the auditions if i didn't get the CRP job! But lucky me, i got in. Im thinking about trying it when i get back from doing CRP so i don't have to go get a normal job! ;D
i was going ot go for the leeds one but i will still be at uni if they i were to get in. plus its on the day of my presentation

I did indeed go! WELL, so I got there and there was a massive line for registration and measuring which we all (about 800 of us ) went through. So after all that hanging around they finally got to the presentation and told us... if we couldn't start work before the end of June, to go away and come back in April when they would have more auditions. So everyone changed their dates haha (the website advertised feb-aug start dates and people travel a fair way so it was pretty annoying although I do understand. Anyway, I did a really idiotic thing. As I said before, I couldn't have started before December in reality but I went anyway for kicks and giggles but I STUPIDLY put my fake dates down as a 2 month period. And they don't give out 2 month contracts. I was out after the first cut and considering my florida experience being down on my app form, I think it is probably to do with the stupid availability I put down. Or maybe I just didn't do as well as some of the others in the animation audition, I don't think I did that bad though. So I'm kinda annoyed at myself for putting those dates! Oh well I still got to do the ani workshop (even though there was barely room to breathe let alone animate! Sooo many people! They were looking for general characters, some parade performers and some show performers. They have separate auditions just for dancers tomorrow (thursday) for the street shows. It was good fun but I have to admit, after seeing the Paris presentation... I really really missed Florida and their American ways it just doesn't quite have the same magic in Europe does it!
thats the only thing that stopped me applying for the summer....i cant speak any french. sounds like a good time though. i cant belive that many turned up!
A friend went to those auditions beth and she got CINDERELLA from June through to January!!! and while shes not friends with cinderella, shes friends with pluto. Im going for the auditions next year, as well as teh crp i think!

That's so cool Gina! I bet she has an amazing time! I'm not sure I'll audition again... I should probably start thinking about getting on with my life. I finish July 2010 and after that I want to go to Yale - no jokes. But I'm not sure I will be accepted this year, I need a year out to get portfolio up... but that year.. wouldn't it be tempting to go and do DCL for 6 months! Or the OAE experience... or the OJA... AAHHHH why is there so much to do! I want to do.. EVERYTHING! I reckon you'd pick up the french if you were over there long enough.
Wow... I went to the auditions too and got to the final round before being cut because I just couldn't pick up the routine quick enough! I'm sure I would recognise your friend who was given Cinderella... as only like 10 people were asked to stay for an interview that day! One girl that particularly stood out was a tall blonde girl, a very good dancer. I wonder if it was her...?
