Anybody else hear about the fifth Walt Disney World theme park? it is going to be like discovery cove, in my opinion scrap the idea and make a thrill park!

Rumours of a fifth park have been floating around for years. Disney has said that they don't forsee even announcing a fifth gate in Florida any time this decade. I wouldn't put much stock in it being true-but then, most of what Jim Hill comes up with is usually fairly unreliable!

That all being said, I completely agree with you. I'm not a huge fan of the idea! I'd rather there be a lot more investment in the parks that are there than a 5th park.

I like it the way it is. I'm with KC investing more into the current parks would be more beneficial.

    I think at least.

yeah, i read through all the details and i hate the idea of animal kingdom at night, they should use the money to make the magic kingdom pretty again

its the reason why MK is not as good as it use to be, it needs a lick of paint and a tweak here and there, like the stitch ride, yes its the newest one but now probably the least visited thing, it calls for a change. Or my personal pet peeve of Magic Kingdom, put a divide between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. I hate how the theming just changes, in the other area you walk through something and it happens, but there one minute your by the cups next your looking at Indy Speedway... its not good theming. And if your improving the Haunted Mansion and Pirates Of The (now) Crapibbean, at least update the Jungle Cruise especially if your creative genius's up at Disney movies want to make a movie out of it, because they have no other ideas.

    Ok rant over

What's wrong with Pirates? It badly needed an update, and if adding good old Sparrow to the equation gets more guests in then so be it. From a CM point of view it was a much needed update. WDW Pirates is never going to be the best (in my opinion the DLRP Pirates is far better and follows a much clearer story line).

As for the Jungle, well they keep meaning to refurbish is, but there are other attractions in greater need (such as the Riverboat getting a hole, Mansion badly needing a refurb...Jungle can still function in its present condition. Ok, some animatronics may not work sometimes, and ok it's all a bit dirty, and the boats go slow in hot weather, but I don't think a shiny new Jungle would fit the theming very well.

    Just defending my territory :p

I do agree though, MK needs an uplift.

Did Pirates ever make sense?? It's backwards LOL.

The animatronics is what makes it so good!!!
Where else have you seen something like that? NOWHERE! Just Disney World.
As shitty as it may look it was absolutely amazing in its prime.
I like the old rides and they keep making updated/new rides that enhance current technology...

AKA Stitch's Great Escape, playing up your mind, The Laugh Floor, where you text message in jokes. Expedition Everest, Where the rail stops and you are teetering off a cliff!

All of these things are different and "updated" versions of our current technology.

But all the Animatronics were just done for Cap'n Jack, if your going to add jack, at least make it so everything else is the same high quality.

I love the laugh floor, its so clever... along with turtle talk.
Everest with the Yeti is a masterpiece, but at the same time as devloping new rides and show, shouldnt they improve some of the classics, like peter pans flight with more animatronics?

If you were an imagineer with all the power in the Disney World, what ride would improve, introduce, or maybe even scrap?

I really felt personally that when I saw the updated version it seemed to flow fairly well. I mean, yes it doesn't make sense really but Jack seems to fit in very well.

yeah He fits in, he's just to perfect for the other around him

    Nahh, I don't think so.
I've seen that ride pretty much every year since 1999.
From what I can remember he doesn't look that perfect.
I'm going back over my Florida pictures now trying to find something to compare.

heh im not gonna win when it comes to the ride then, its just the way the eyes move, and his face structure its so amazing, but the others just feel old fashioned to me

"A Florida television station is reporting that it has confirmed that the Walt Disney Co. plans to build its first adult-oriented theme park. WFTV said that the park has been named "Night Kingdom" and indicated that it will likely feature nocturnal animals. Similar parks have been constructed elsewhere in the world using special lighting so that nocturnal animals, who are ordinarily asleep in viewing areas during the day, can be seen "in action" at night. The TV station cited unnamed Disney World employees as saying that the "secret project" will likely be constructed in an area next to Disney's Animal Kingdom, currently used for growing food for the wildlife there. WFTV also noted that speculation has been rife on the Internet lately that the adult park will be constructed in an area adjacent to Disney World's Pleasure Island attraction."

ya, if this is true it sucks. hopefully it is a distraction attempt by disney, to hide their real plans :)

This, however, another write-up about night kingdom, sounds much cooler

And this blogger thinks it is no more:
