Hey guys! I wasn't sure what the answer to this question was so I thought I'd put it out there... My best friend is taking her little cousins to Disneyland in California this winter and I'm working at Disney World in Florida....Do you know if they offer a discounted rate at other properties or is it just the one that you work at?
Yes you have discount on all Disney parks when you work there, even the DCL. But you have to be with them to let them into the park though!
Alrighty....I'm not so concerned on the parks, but I could definitely use it for hotels then? That's pretty awesome! Thanks!
Yes you have to show up at the hotel to verify the reservation! So it wouldn't do you any good to make a reservation for them if you're not going with them.
My son is a CRP at Epcot and he flew across to Disneyland in California to meet us for a break last December. Earlier in the fall there was a deal for Disney Castmembers on their staff website for hotels at Disneyland. He had to phone to reserve our rooms and was able to reserve 2, it was a very sweet deal ($120.00 for each room per night at the Disneyland hotel.) He was able to put the rooms in my name and use my credit card number but he did have to be there with us (or before us) to show his ID before we checked in. He was also able to use his maingate pass for himself and everyone else (up to a total of 4) every day and he did have to be with us as we entered the park the first time each day. He also used his Castmember discounts on food and merchandise which were the same great deal as he received at WDW in December and for the holidays. If I remember correctly merch was 40% off and I think the food was still 20% off. When we were there they closed the park early (at 6 PM) for a Christmas party two nights for Castmembers and their families, my son was even told that he could go to that and take us with him. We didn't feel like it would be appropriate for us to go to their Christmas party but we could have. They treated him very good and it was just like he was at WDW when it came time for anything discounted or special. If you're going just make sure you have all of your ID cards and you should be set. Just a note for you - I go to Disneyland a lot and the Disney hotels are expensive - if you are looking for cheap rates there are lots of "GoodNeighbor" hotels just as close to the parks and they will be cheaper than your Castmember discounts at the Disney hotels. You probably don't get a discount at those though but they would still be cheaper than staying in the Park. Some of them are even closer walking distance to the Parks than the official Disney hotels. I hope this helps with your planning.
Thanks for all your help guys... I'm not sure if I will be able to make the trek across to California for when they watned to go but it's definitely something to keep in mind... Thanks again
Yeah that's kind of a drag that you have to physically be there with the ppl you're getting in. But it makes sense really...but it's good to know that you can use your Cast Member discount at other Disney parks ;D I was wondering if you can use your CM discounts for a certain amount of time after you've finished your contract. Like on your way back home...?
No, when you've worked your last day you have to give back you CM ID, which is your park ticket! But you get complimentary tickets while you work there that you can save for later. Me and my friend did that, and went back on a vacation later visiting all our american friends there. But I've also heard that you can go to Celebration and get the tickets you haven't used on your bluepass in actual tickets for later use...
Does anyone know if we can get discounts on year passes? My dad and gramma are going to be coming down a lot and they think that will be the best way to go....Any thoughts? And I know you can only let 3 people in the park for free at one time....But how much do the other people have to pay? Can I get them discounts on the other tickets for the day as well? I have my cousins coming and there are 5 of them so I want everything to be settled before they get there....
Thanks TinkTingeling that's good to know. So i guess any of the 12 free days for family and friends that you don't use do kind of roll over in a way. Sorry DisneyDreamer i don't know anything about discounts for annual passes and i've read through the FAQs alot so i don't think it says in there :-\
tee hee hee No worries Disney Princess! I'll keep trying to figure out....That's why I love google ha ha
I'm not sure how it's with the annual passes, but I know you can buy discounted tickets at Company D, so I would guess that would work with annual passes as well...
Company D is a store exclusively for Cast Members with cast exclusive merchandise like pins! There's one backstage at Epcot and one close to Disney University at least. The opening hours vary.
