    Hi Guys

I wondered if anyone out there/ whos been out there recently could tell me what the cost of the insurance is that disney provide after the first 4 months?

Im going on July 18th to do HRC in the UK Pavillion and am trying to workout the pros and cons of buying annual cover (for the whole year) before i leave, or getting just the 4 months required and then getting the Disney cover (deducted from my wage packet) after the 4 months is over.

Any help/ advice would be appreciated- thanks!!

    Hi Gemma,

I mentioned in another post where you asked this:

As you will be working for HRC (a participant) you are not eligible for any Disney benefits. You will not receive any Disney medical insurance. I'm not sure what way, if any, that HRC provides any health insurance. I know a girl who took out her own medical insurance for the full year.

I was there on the J1 visa, that Laura has just went on, and medical insurance was included in the program fees. As far as i remember there is no medical insurance provided for IP's. I would recommend taking it out for the year, or email Bev at HRC and ask if they offer any.

This may or may not help, as it was a wee while ago. I got pretty cheap but decent travel insurance in glasgow with STA, called Banana Insurance for students which covered you for 6 months. Disney's Insurance covered me for the rest. I chose the least expensive Disney Insurance which did me fine for the rest of my contract, and that came out my wages per week.

Just don't get ill. or break anything (Only kidding)

    Hi Claire

Yeah I saw your reply in the other post- I wasnt ignoring it :) I did email Bev at the HRC and she didnt say I wasnt eligible for Disney Insurance- she just said it was expensive! Does anyone know how much it is out of wages?

I was thinking about getting the insurance through Speciality Risk Asseessment (the link from the Yummy Jobs website) but only for the 4 months- but then was wondering whether Id be able to just buy another 4 months from them once Im out there, then another 4 months etc? So that it breaks the cost up a bit so I dont have to deal with the Disney Insurance- which seems a little confused to me!

    Im so confused!!

    Hey all,

Can anyone put any truth to this??

The Yummy Jobs medical insurance - there is a $500 excess fee. i have heard that if, god forbid, i was to hurt myself and went to the hospital, that i would not be given a total bill. instead a separate bill for each say - the stay $300, food - $70, pills - $450 and so on. so this would mean they are separate bills and you do not go over the $500 excess. thus a get out clause for the medical insurance.

I heard this from a friend who has done the Int prog. I hope this isnt true but has anyone heard of this?

Hey Beth, i think you are able to get the Yummy insurance for as long as u like.

    Thanks Jx
