Hi All, It seems well known that as a Disney employee you receive a ticket for free entry to the main 4 parks as well as 20% off F&B & Merch. What are the other perks? What are the discounts available on hotels for any visiting family & friends? Thanks, DK.
Hi DK, I'm here for one week now so I still need to figure it out. But there are so many places where you'll get Disney Discount. As soon as you're registered for The Hub you can check all the perks out. For Disney Hotels, you can take a look on the hub and check for the prices. I think that the discount depends on the normal sales prices and the time you book. So the later you book the higher your discount.
For Disney resorts, at least when I was there in 2006, you could get 40% off of resorts for friends/family, or 50% off if you were staying in the room with them. You'd just book through the hub, and just before your guests arrive, go the hotel at which they'd be staying to show your Cast Member ID (or just check-in with them). Apparently during the Christmas season the discounts are a little bigger across the board, but I don't know much about that unfort! You also get a gate pass that is good for a certain number of days, and this let's you bring in up to 3 guests for free (they each get a one day park hopper for that one day).
Go read a post on the ICP thread about the same thing, posted by kidangel. She's my mom, and she actually went through the process and got 60% off in august at caribbean beach + 50% off the dining plan.

The Hub is like Disney's internal computer system. It's where your schedule will be posted, where you can book hotels at a discount, etc. It's relatively easy to use. When you get all your info at check in, you also get a Discounts book - there's a zillion of them!
