Hey, is this forum dead?
I'm just back from Pleasure Island, in the downtown Disney...
Wow, this place is sooooo cool!
And the job is funny. I mean merchandise, I don't know abour F&B.
The problem is that you have to stand up 8 hours a day!! Too much for meeeeeeeee!
But I like here...

Hey I was just going to start a thread to say how quiet its is on here at the mo!!!

Once all the Sept lot have gone it seams like there is not many poeple on here at all, so come on all you Dec lot

Glad to hear your doing ok, I think we will be fine when we get there I've just got to get my head aroung that I will be on my feet all day working, the job I do now I just sit at a desk on a computer all day!!!!

hey guys - emmas rite, its hard work, its hot and u have to smile all day which is alot harder than it looks but at the same time ive been here 3 weeks today and i absolutly LOVE IT!! its great fun and the ppl here really are great! ;D

I love my job - as long as it doesn't run like it did today when I was stuck in the Crown & DEATH for 2 hours and then Queens for 2 & a half!

Ha ha. Every pavilion has the hated position. In Canada, I remember working in The Post and hearing someone that had just clocked in to CDS yell and you'd always know that they'd gotten the attraction!!!!

Hey guys, yes it is amazing here and i love my job! Standing on the beer cart all day chatting to people and pulling pints! Yeah it is hard work on your feet all day, keeping up the constant hapiness and smile and long shifts but its soo much fun! See you guys in Bennigans later!

my night shift at work is always brightened wen i read the current participants section!!! lol

all this talk about crown and crest!!!! or crown and death as we used to call it!
hey uk merch lot, have any of u found any time capsules yet??? if not then first one to find one and tell me if im in it gets some big respect! lol

so wats rotation like now in the uk, i mean wat order? cos wen i was first there it was like toys/kidcot/queens/tea/cart/sports/crown/sign back in......

then it changed to cart/sports/crown/tea/queens/toys.kidcot sign back in!

confusing stuff!!

i loved signing in and getting pick up merchantainter, or picking up toys 2 or kidcot 2 cos then u could get away with doing not a lot! hehe of course i did work and do stuff but used to have a laugh too cos i wasnt stuck behind some register!!

but the best position by far was floor stocker!! my time card week was excellent cos i was floor stocker for 3 days and then i just slacked behind some register on the last day...........

oh yeh i meant to ask u uk merch lot, hows randev doing??? we used to call him random randev cos hes very random but very sweet and always made sure we were doing ok, every time i was homesick he would always say something to cheer me up!!

are u lot all still on mandatory overtime?? wow we used to love mandatory!! NOT!! there were a few weeks in a row where we were all working 70 hours + and so tired but then there were times wen we couldnt even get 30 hours per week, and were so skint!!!

looking back on the job i realise that the job wasnt hard work but it was just hard to be so smiley and stuff all the time even wen u didnt feel like it........like there is not other job in the world where u just get to stand and say hi to people all day and answer damn stupid questions all day long, but then u think about the amount that u are giving every day, and its a high level of service. and it drains u......almost to the point of insanity! haha

u work hard and u play hard, thats commons life

any other stories from uk??? did u hear the one about wen the window in crown and death got smashed by a giant tennis ball one evening?? that was me and mhairis fault, we did it! the terrible 2 we were! used to stand out in middle of street wearing the fancy dress costumes from toys and then do magic tricks to the kiddies

just ask claire in HRC how mad mhairi was and she'l tell ya!!!

i should be coming out to disney on holiday next year hopefulyl may or june time so i might meet some of u CM's before u leave....

any questions or stories, please feel free to divulge, right now i have to go back to reality and administer some drugs (legal ones - in a hospital! lol)

We had a pickles and ice cream party today which was an experience!

I've been trying not to pay attention to the order of rotation because I like to be surprised...as long as it's kidcot or cart...yep surprised.

No time capsules yet...besides the ones I was TOLD about and was therefore sworn to secrecy about lol

Laura i found 2 capsules in crown the other day when cds kept sending me there. will check if youre in next time im bored in crown!
The main rotation is:
cart-sports-toys-crown
or
cart-queens-kidcot-tea which is the one i prefer lol!
I think kidcot and tasks are most popular. Making magic anyone?
We had mandatory OT when i first got here in june but not anymore as we now all do about 32 hrs a week.

I've found 2 capsules in sports, 1 in queens, 1 in toys, and 3 in crown. ive got my pickles party later today

 

Merch is really fun helen. i suppose its what you make of it, if you go in and make it fun it is good. it all depends on what store you're in too but your not really in one for long. Everyone is really friendly and there is always someone there if you need them.
