Anybody know if the complexes have organised day trips? For example, out to Daytona or St Augustine or something like that for our days off... I'd imagine it's easy to find trips like that at a travel agency in Kissimmee/Orlando but it would be cool if there's something just for us that we can book right where we're staying.

My friend went on one to St. Augustine. As I heard they organize lots to keep you busy when going to the parks becomes an every day thing. :) They put on pool parties, trips, Disney has special tours and behind the scenes looks to some of the rides. But yep if you watch the calender you can see when trips and such are coming up and get to go on a few of them. Not sure all the places they go. Maybe someone else can answer that one. But I know their is trips. :)

    Awesome, thanks!
I hear that. Those of you who will be new to the parks and the whole central Florida area, don't get me wrong here! I've been going to Florida and WDW nearly every year of my life and I love it now as much as I ever have. My family actually refers to it as 'home' lol So if we're serving our sentences (haha) together I'll be glad to show newbies to the area some of my favorite haunts and/or explore new ones with ya!
I really wanna go see a Tampa Bay Lightning game down there... Not because they're my favorite team, I wanna be one of the few people there rooting for the non-hosting team haha If anyone's a Canes or Habs fan and interested in pi*sing off some Lightning fans in '09-10 let me know ;)

There's usually 1 or 2 trips a month, sometimes to a beach, or Busch Gardens I've seen too. You can also pick up a calendar each month at your clubhouse that offeres different classes from Disney University. You can do behind the scenes tours, lectures, or even things like resume writing or sign language courses.

I would also suggest getting involved with VoluntEARS, you can sign up on the HUB and get to go to volunteer events around the Orlando area, its a good way to meet other Cast Members and get out in the community.

Also, for me, the parks never get old, Ive been here almost 6 months and still go almost every day off. There's so much to see and do at each one, and you can also go resort hopping, try the different restaurnats, explore the resorts etc. You will never have a day where you say 'I'm bored' theres always tonnes to do!

Hells ya Koivu!! I don't think they'll be trading him any time soon ;)
And Carolina has Tuomo Ruutu, if you know who he is... he's my favorite :-*

Thanks CanadianTyler! Those behind the scenes tours would be very interesting I think!
Is there anywhere online that lists what the classes offered at DU are? Or is that one of the secrets you only find out once you get the Hub (thats funny, my college newsletter was called that too...)? I've heard of VoluntEARS, most people I've heard who do it, really enjoy it. Plus it's also great to be able to have the 'volunteer work' field in your resume.

The classes are listed on the HUB, or in the Cast Communicator Newsletter.
