I remember during the interview they mentioned a discount on the disney cruises, I was wondering if anyone knows any more details about that? What is the discount? Can my family and friends get the discount even if I am not taking the cruise with them?
I am only there for the summer college program (3 months) so I can't go during my time working at Disneyworld. But If I book the cruise while working there, can I go on it a few months later and still receive the discount?
    Any thoughts would be great
    Thanks

I can't tell you anything more specific, but you need to be a current WDW CM to get the discount (you need to show a vaild ID when boarding the ship if I remember reading on here correctly). Thus if you can't go during your program, you won't be able to get the discount.

However I'm sure there's someone on here who's taken a cruise who can confirm/elaborate/debunk what I've said.

You also can't use the DCL discount until you have been employed for at least 90 days.

Thanks Jorden and adjonlin, I guess if I want to go on a Disney cruise I am going to have to pay the full price like everyone else.

well, just make friends with some cm that have been there longer then 90 days and then you can go with them cause you only need one cm to get the discount for the whole room!
For a 7 day cruise i paid around 500$ tips included and for a 4 day cruise around 300$ tips included!! (that was in 2003, i dont know about the prizes now, but i guess they are the same) the cruises are AWESOME so make sure you make one!

Was it easy to get time off to go on the cruise?

It'll actually be tough to get the time off on a CP/ICP program. They will pretty much expect you to be available 5 days a week. Now you can try to give away shifts but chances are you'll need to book your cruise in advance and you'll need to wait until the week before to give away the shifts. Calling in isn't an option since your ID will tell them where you are.

For the Cultural Reps you're considered more like full time and as such it's easier to get weeks off at a time.
