Hey everyone!! Anyone else starting in F&B summer/autumn 07?? I start in sept ...f&b R u booking ur own flights or letting disney book them? I was thinking of going out a week early to just soak up some sun maybe? What r ur plans u guys?
i'm not sure if they still do this, but if disney book your flights, you pay for it and if you complete the contract then they pay you the money back... something like that!

hello Hayley! I will be in Florida when you arrive,i leave in 4 weeks time!!! I booked my own flight and if i complete the year then disney will give me the same amount of money back from my flight. If you let disney book your flight they book it and pay for it and then after you arrive in Florida you can either pay it back in full,or have it taken out of your pay every week in instalments. Disney seem to have a habit of sending people to various different states before the land in florida so letting them book it will bump up the cost and prob be a longer flight!

Thanks for the info on flights-I think I will contact Disney when they have sent me that package, and tell them I am going to book my own flight-I might go a few days early to give me time to get over the jet lag haha!! Yes im in F&B!!!!! yay!!!! doing the Cultural rep prog,start on april 24th!!!! I am sooooo exited!!! if you want to ask anything let me know,and i will see you out there in September!! ( feels like its ages away now but believe me the time will fly past,it seems like only last week that i was still 5 MONTHS away from going,now its only 4 weeks!!)
Wow can't believe its so soon Kerry. I was new when you were just told about going. Can't believe how fast the time has gone!! I do have a question though, does your visa permit you to go early? Or can you only arrive in America on the first day your visa is valid?
i think someone else saidu can arrive early but uhave to sort ur own accomodation out becvause u wont have a room or anything with disney untilur actual proper arrival date

yeah,your visa is valid from the day it arrives back from the embassy,it has a start date and an end date on it (the end date is on the I-797B form that you will recieve from yummy jobs,mine is 22nd May 2008 so i have to be out of America by then,booooo!!) The I-797B form does also have a start date on it (mine is 22 April 2007) but i know that there are people from my arrival group going down early,so thats not a problem. If you are planning to arrive in Florida before you actual start date then you will need to arrange to stay at a hotel or something,you cant check into your appartemnt untill your start date!
ohh decisions decisions..which hotel to stay at for a few nights??? I have only ever stayed in villas in Kissimee so have no idea where to go.....prob a disney one?
There's a Holiday in REALLY close to the Commons/Chatham and is pretty much just accross the road from Vista Way. That could be a good cheap option, and would make it easy to get to Chatham/Commons/Vista to check in. I think this is the one. http://www.kidsuites.com/index.html
Hey just randomly, does this hotel give cast member discount? Just i'm stayin 2 extra days after my contract ends (31st aug)
I don't think so, but then again I never did see the list of off property hotels that give CM discounts.
