    Hello all!

I just wanted to set this up to hear about when people start getting their phone calls for phone interviews... my e-mail from Yummy said 4-6 weeks, but I think there are some people who's e-mails said it would be earlier! I just wanted to know when calls start coming and what Yummy ask and whatnot! :)

Also... when is everyone wanting to go down in 2010? Earlier in the year? Later in the year? I myself, and a few of my friends, all want to go down as early as possible... January or Feb if possible!!!

I'm so restless to get this process started :) Although really... it's one big waiting game ;)

  2. Hi Shayna!

My email said about three weeks, and that was... last... um... Friday. So about two weeks now for me!

I want to go down in January, too. My email said early 2010, so hopefully that's what I would get!

    Hey Shayna,

I got the general 4-6 week email as well. So I’m guessing sometime in August they will call or email about phone interviews?

I’m hoping to go sept 2010 so I don’t know if I’ve applied too early. Right now I work for Disney Cruise Line and am planning on staying until next summer (as the Magic is going to Europe!). I’m really excited about the possibility of working in the parks as I love working for Disney and the CRP program looks awesome. I’m just hoping everything works out timing wise (as I only have a short vacation period were I am home this fall for F2F interviews if I am granted one). We will see.

  4. Yea i think u have applied 2 early, u should be applying in february for sep 2010 starts.

they did say on the Yummy website that it was for 2010 onwards that applications were for so you might be ok still :)

Cruise Line sounds amazing!! What do you do??

After I was originally invited to the f2f interview around this time last year I asked Kristen if it was possible for a later start date and as such to attend the later of the two upcoming interview sessions. She did one better and offered that I attend whatever interview session was closer to me whether it was the first or the second (it so happened to be the second one so things worked out) and that I just write on my application form what time I would be able to start.
I know that I wasn't an exception: Yummy understands that since we are incurring our own travel costs that many people would prefer to attend the closer of the two interviews and as such I recall being sent an e-mail asking what one we would like to attend.

Hope that this helps for those wanting a later start date!

    Ciao,

When you get to the f2f stage you fill out an application form of sorts, on which you put your earliest start date. So plenty of time to think about it as that won't be til end of October time. Any questions about any stage of the process feel free.

  9. I was just told I would hear in August about interviews as I applied yonks ago! I am hoping to go later between June and August as I will have finished my NVQ if I get in and it would also co-incide with some of my other friends who are hoping to go out again on the American CP.

Ok this is really helpful! So you can tell them your preference and everything when you get to the f2f stage then? When do they ask you what your preference is for what you'd like to do? Is that still after you get accepted and you fill out that form? Or is that at the interview now too??

After you successfully pass the phone interview and are invited to the f2f you choose which interview you'd like to go to (or they might ask you over the phone; can't remember if they did that as well). You do have to confirm via e-mail as to what session you are attending and what city/ day of the session (they'll ask you to you. Yummy is great at guiding you through the process and happy to answer any questions you have).
You list your job preferences first thing at the f2f; they take care of paperwork with the applicants as a group before the presentation really starts.

I'm currently on my 117th day of being on the waitlist, so who knows when/ if I'll be getting a call. I plan on reapplying at the end of August for the upcoming fall interviews if I'm not called by then. Two people just received calls a couple days ago, though, so I'm keeping my chin up. Here's hoping for a call this week!

I work in Youth activities - so basically we run activities for kids. It's lots of fun but hard work too. I love working for DCL but I think most people can only handle working on a ship for so long.

Glad to hear about everyone experiences - thank you all. If I have to apply for the next rounds because I am too early that is ok. I'm just excited about getting this whole process going. I feel pretty lucky as I get my disney fill here and spending a bit of my vacation in the parks. I think it would be a lot harder at home in canada waiting for this.

So you're saying that Yummy jobs is pretty understanding and cool too? I'm just nervous because my first experience was with Castaway lol and i'm just unsure of what Yummy is like! I'm glad that they really guide you through everything sorta step by step thats great to hear!!

Will fall interviews be around October sometime? And they'll probably have them in Toronto right??

The last fall session was at the very end of October and the spring one was at the beginning of March. I'm pretty sure that one of them was in Toronto but I can't remember off the top of my head where the other day was. I believe that the fall session is generally back east but I know that while the cities chosen are major ones they are determined based on the hometowns of the applicants. They ask you where your nearest big city is during the phone interview; wouldn't make much sense to have the interview in Nova Scotia if everyone was from Alberta. That being said I'm pretty sure that they try to have both the east and west covered between the two sessions (for me the fall one was solely back east; the spring one had cities in both the east and west). As always, hope that was helpful!.

And thanks for the optimism! If I have been taught anything thus far it is patience. I'm sure that it will be worth it in the end!

I think Calgary would make sense too. It is more central for all the western provinces... and there's 2 major cities, Calgary, Edmonton. Then it's closer for people in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. But I remember asking Kristen when I started looking into this, and she said, as someone mentioned previously, that it depends on where the majority of applicants are from and what works best for everyone. So, if the majority of people were applying from Saskatoon, there could be interviews held there! Woot!
