Criminal Background Check time limit?!?!?!?!?

Since I only just discovered this site I decided to read up on some past entries and I came across one that said that people have been turned down if their criminal background check is done too late.
Is this true?!?!?!
Im broke but I just started a new job and was planing to send it next week.
Maybe I just ask one of my parents for some cash to get that going.........

 

Not sure if it will affect you the later you send it, but always a good ides ask the parents and say you will give it back....... you could forget tho lol

I got my criminal background check done the same day I found out I got the job. I think it costs $40ish. I am sure you will be fine to send it in next week its still 4 months away

$40?! whoa, that's a lot. Mine cost $15, maybe it's different in other provinces.

 

I think I read somewhere that leaving a criminal check until later COULD delay the visa process. If it's not too much trouble to ask your parents for a small loan, you might just want to get it out of the way. If it's a huge problem, I'd call Cast-A-Way (I assume you're from Canada) and just double check. I had mine done a few days after I found out I was going, as well.

@Jo... I think I paid around $40 for mine too. That's Ontario though. I guess Manitoba gives you a break.

I'm in Ontario too and have done the check twice. I think I paid about $25 both times. Yeah for something cheap in the Tdot.

Jo where are you from???? I am from Quebec and I had to pay $40 as well! I also had to ask my mom for the money 'cause I was broker then broke!!! But she knew how important this is to me and she knew that I'll eventually pay her back (??? ). So don't be shy to ask the 'rents!

It's $20 in New Brunswick

 

In the UK it takes like 8 weeks to be processed so if you do it too late you cannot go! Caus Disney need to see it and stuff!! but i dunno bout canada!

does anyone know from the U.k do we get the background check sent back to us?, coz I sent mine off a few weeks ago and have not heard anything yet, well I could really just tell them i'm not a criminal

Yeah, mine was also only around 15$, JO and I are from Manitoba..
Um, I already sent my criminal record check to castaway, are we also supposed to be faxing them to Disney, or does castaway take care of that?

 

Soo unfair! They always try and rip people of in Quebec! Oh well- nothing I can do about it now!

I just went to the police station and asked for a police report saying I had never been accuse or been foung guilty of a crime... And thay gave it to me..
