So today marks my 60 day mark.. and my Crim record check is not finished yet! :S (They ran my neighbour who has the exact same name as me, and his house address is 1046 where as mine is 1044.. lol) They said it should be in by the end of the week.. Will this delay me do you thinkk?? I hope not :S

    That's an incredible coincidence.
I think the record checks have to be between 30 and 60 days so a week shouldn't change anything... you should still be good :)

Yah, it has been quite a pain growing up.. he constantly gets my mail to. Hopefully it doesn't delay though.. if it's b/w 30 and 60 I should be fine

really 30 to 60 days? That sucks, I have to get one pretty soon so I can get my teaching license and I don't want to have to pay for it twice. I'm going to e-mail Kristen and ask for sure though. I'm jealous that you leave really soon Francis! I'm almost at my 6 month mark and it seems so far away

I think it depends on the city. My uncle had to do one for his job and it was free, that was in Quebec. I have to assume he went to his local police in the small town where he lives. But I think if you did it, say, in downtown Toronto, I would not be surprised if they charged even more than the 45. I live in Sarnia, I'm not expecting a charge... and a neighbor of mine is a cop, I'll have to ask him. Although he is OPP, I dunno if you have to go to provincial or municipal for it ???

Yeah, and I think it also depends on the job. A few years ago when I had to get one to work at a YMCA summer camp it was 15. I was really surprised by the 45. I just don't want to have to pay that twice, I don't mind it once. Let me know what your neighbour says please

I got my police check done a couple weeks ago (and have yet to remember to go pick it up!). It cost me $40. Another lady was filling out the form for getting one at the same time and I think the cop said something about if you're getting paid you have to pay and if you're volunteering it's free. Her's was for driving for a school. I live in a 60,000 person valley so it's not really big but still cost a bit.

So bizzare on the neighbour's name thing, are you around the same age too?

Nah, He's a 60+ year old man lol.. My municipal police are um.. not too swift haha. I come from a pretty small town to.. about 9-10,000 people.. and it cost me $30 to get it done. And I agree with Kate, it's for volunteering that you get reimbursed (still have to pay up front, at least here anyway).

    Nice :)

So my brother did his check today, at the city police station and it cost 35$. Since we've lived in Ontario for only 2 years they have to send it off to Montreal as well to make sure we didn't leave there because we raped children and burnt down an entire city so she said it might take a week or so to get it back. They asked if the job is working with children, so I guess it's a different form whether you will be or not. Working at Disney.. something tells me there will be children involved.
