I just got accepted last week from Canada for the F&B. Arriving December 2nd. But I just want to double check and make sure I did hear things right. For the Q1 visa I don't have to do anything? They will just send it to me? I think after hearing so much from other countries about Visa problems it just seems weird so I just wanted to make sure I did hear Eric Correctly. Also I was never told about the Police Check? I know it was a rushed discussion on the phone but just want to make sure I never missed it. Anyone know when I should have that done and what I do with it. It is easy for me to get done pretty fast as Dad works at the police station. But just want to make sure I do it at the right time and do the right stuff with it. LOL.

Hope thoese questions make sense. :)

Usually they ask you to bring the police thingy at the interview, but since you've obviously already been there, you should fax it to them. And when you get a job for Disney you as good as have the visa already. They'll just send you some papers and you have to go to the embassy for the interview just for technicalities I guess...

You don't need to go to an embassy for a visa if you're Canadian.
I'm almost 100% positive. At least for this specific visa.

Also, we were not asked to bring the police check to the interview so don't worry about it. When you get hired for the pavilion each pavilion is under different "ownership" so some may require things like police checks, etc.

If Eric didn't tell you to bring it, you don't need it.

Eric told me to fax a Criminal background Check to him ASAP.

    Weird...
I guess you should send him an email and ask if he needs it?
Could it be if you're a certain age? or from a certain province?
I guess not that's sort of discrimination.

  6. you do need a criminal background check and then fax it to him. You could call him, butI 100% know you need it so you could also just go get one.
But leaing in december you're not in any hurry so you could wait a week or two so eric isn't soooo busy and he can actually file it.

Yes, Disney requires it from all employees! And when Eric says he needs it ASAP it's obvious it's important, so don't wait!

Awesome. Ok thanks everyone. Ya I would figure you would need one working with kids. I had to have one at Storybook Gardens when I worked there so I guess it would only make sense. I will e-mail dad right away to pass on the info there today, and get them to fax it to Eric when they are done. I like to get it out of the way and they have always faxed them for me. I have never actually seen one. LOL

I need a Criminal Check, I must have heard something wrong.

I feel bad for people with Criminal Records. It must BLOW when you need something like this.

I just went to the station to get mine processed and i lucked out it only costs $30 i heard some people saying it was a lot more! It takes 2 weeks to get done!

two weeks I went into the station in Vancouver it took litterally 30 seconds and cost me 50 bucks. You lucked out on the price but having to wait two weeks is rediculous. Oh well. your coming down it doens't matter.

The Visa is handed to you on a plate dont worry about that at all. There is no embassy or anything. And It maybe took me 15 to 20 mins at the border to get everythign processed. You'll be fine.

Have fun and see you soon. You will have a blast.

In Ottawa it is 12 $ if you can wait 2-3 weeks, 52$ if you want them to print it while you wait.... I don't know which one I should do... I think I am gunna do the 12$ one and tell eric that asap is gunna be a bit of a wait...

by asap they just mean...as soon as you can. You don't need to rush it that much, I'd definitely wait the 2-3 weeks. Last year I didn't even know I was going until the middle of april, so It was at least the first of may when I faxed my sheet in. 2-3 weeks wont hurt :)
I haven't even gone in for mine yet...I think it's about 24$ here and 2 weeks.

yeah it's not that big of a deal for the criminal record check... they said it would take 2 weeks for me it came in 4 days, and unless you are leaving in like a month then the asap isn't really asap but more or less like as soon as you can type of deal. Here in wpg i think it was like 25 or something and takes about 5.2 seconds at the cop shop if you fill out the form before hand... and as for the visas... it's uber easy for a canadian to get one, as long as you have all the info you neeed you just get it when you are crossing into the USA.

I am lucky. I don't have to pay. And don't really have to worry about it either. I just sent an e-mail last night and told them to fax it to Eric when they were done. So now I can go away on my holidays and not worry. :)
