just wondering how the costuming works... are we responsible for washin our own - and therefore do we go on the bus in our costume?

or is it there ready for us each day?!

hey there are a number of ways that you can wash your costume. fisrt of all you can do what i do and wash my own, if you put your costume into costuming for washing you are never guarenteed the same one back so i want to keep my own. disney will wash if for you though if you choose. i find in easier to go into work fully costumed as then there is no faffing about when you get there.

    hope that helps

    lots of love

    Good question!

THere is a building that the bus drops us off at called Cast Services, and you have to walk through it in order to go on stage. In this building, are everybodys lockers, and a costuming department, which is where you will get your costumes. They do have a drop-off rea, and will wash the clothes. However, finding a costume that fits is sometimes hard to do, so if you find one, it might be better to hold onto it, and wash it yourself. EVery apartment comes equiped with a washer and dryer, so you don't have to worry about that.

The compromise is this: you're allowed (at least in Recreation...and I believe it's a rule that applies across property) to have up to three costumes, so you can travel to work in costume, but still take back your previous days for Disney to wash, and collect another to wear the next day.

Don't worry -- the costumes are polyester and pretty much indestructible!  Unless you leave wax crayons in your apron like one of my roommates did in our dryer... :-[

And if I remember right the full-timers like us IPs got to have 5 costumes out at once so you can wear a fresh one every day.

    You're welcome, Gemma!!

    5 costumes? Even better!

Us ICPs were limited to the CP quantity of 3...obviously we weren't trusted :p

IPs seem to be treated more like FT CMs...paid more than CPs too, it seems!

Yup, IPs are allowed five costumes at a time.

I sometimes get ready for work at work because the bus gets you there about a half-hour before your shift. It gives you time to change, do your hair, get costumes, etc.

do we get fitted for costumes? or jst hope there is the right size on the day!?!?

You're not 'fitted' as such - it's trial and error finding the right 'size' for you. The sizing system is pretty ridiculous though. I've taken out the same size shirt every time I've been in there and the difference between the biggest and the smallest is amazing. One day I'm being choked, the next I'm flashing people.
