Hello, Just wondering if it costs anything to apply to the programme. I know in a lot of things you have to pay a certain amount at each stage of the application. Or is it simply a case of having to pay to get to the interviews, and then pay for flights and insurance etc... Thanks! ;D
hello there you dont pay anything to actually apply - its just a case of sending in your CV! you have to pay your way to the interviews and any costs incured for attending interviews if away from your home town. If you get into the program then you have to pay your flight out to florida (you can pay it of week by week if you want to spread the cost) you pay for your own visa, and theres other costs that you have to pay for before you leave but you will get all this info during the application process so dont worry!!!! what program have you applied for/going to apply for?? Kerry xx
hi minnie! Kerry is right, and that depends too on your program, for IP you pay your way to interviews, and if u get aceppted u have to pay the assent feed for the departament, your flight, but u can pay it in your checks week by week, but if u finish the program they give u back the money of your flight for you flight to came back, and also ypur visa cost its on your own, you have to contrac a security for the first 3 months, and i dont remember if its more of it XOXO talk you soon Ely ;D
$100 for the visa....approx 63 pounds....but if you get rejected at the visa stage for any reason and have to reapply you have to pay it again....then you need photos for your visa and also 13.50 for them to return your passport to you via secure mail...it does add up...but in my opinion totally worth it hehe
eeek - "rejected at the visa stage" what???? why would that happen??? yikes, theres so much to think about!!!!!! any ideas why you would have your visa application rejected?? ive never had a visa before (ive not actually ever been out of the UK before - never been on a plane or anything!!) im worried now!!! Kerry xxx
I don't know of anyone who has ever been rejected at the visa stage or had any problems but I guess if it seems like you are gonna skip your visa and try and stay in America they might not accept it...other problems maybe with criminal records etc... Don't worry about it though really....as I said I've not heard on anyone... Oh one thing might be if you have a cut or blister on any of your fingers...they tell you that on the phone when you book coz they scan your fingerprints hehe....wouldnt want to have to pay again coz I cut my finger...might walk around with bubblewrap on for the next 3 weeks hehe Don't panic...it is a lot to consider money wise but if your really up for it then it is worth it xKx
i've not heard on anyone either... but basiclly is if the thought u want to saty inthe USA or something but usually theres no problem with that ;D i didnt heard about the cuts on finger, OMG i will need a bubblewrap glove lol so Kerry dont worry so much, it could be a little expensive at some point but im sure it will worth it if its something than u really want as kirsty said ;D XOXO Ely
you can get refused a visa if they think u are planning on staying in the usa illegally, if you have criminal records, if you have come in contact with hazardous substances without first having tests done e.g. like a couple of years ago if u worked with sheep and wen they had the foot in mouth scare. if you are associated or affiliated with certain groups. if you are going to the usa for purposes of espionage or terrorism and if you carry certain contagious diseases without medical consent. Most people will be okay - and i dont think driving offences are considered criminal offenses like points on license type of thing obv if u run someone over or dangerous driving thats different. oh u usually cant get a visa if ur currently in process of applying for one to another country too E
I emailed Yummy, and they sent me through some information regarding the process, which included a run down of all the costs that you might incur when applying and actually going on the programme. Might be worth a shot Sarah x
Thanks for your replys! Looks like I'd better be finding a job sooner than later and saving up! I'm hoping to head out Summer '08 for the Seasonal Programme, how about everyone else? 8)
