Hello there, can any one tell me if there are any similarities or differences in the housing? Like is one better then the other? what one is quieter then the other? what one has more parties? If anyone can tell me stuff like that it would be greatly appreciated thanks.

It's all relative, some apartments are great having just 2 roomies, and in other you even have inmates, GF or BF of the roomies sharing the flat, so depends on your roomies, 8 per apartment is crazy, they share the bathroom a lot 4 per each, and have a WC outside the rooms for the visits, then the fridge is the same size than the rest of the apartments, 2 people apartment has one bath and one room, and is tiny, 4 people has 2 bath rooms and 2 rooms and so, so... mine was 6 just great, 3 rooms and each room with bathroom, large living room, balcony and good sized kitchen, good price thou and lots of roomies and fun, my parties rocked... were great but we had agreements about parties, we have to ask for permission or discuss when to do them in order to don't bother the rest of the house or even neighbours, everything was about talking and respect the others time and space, I loved my apartment, when I finished my year I left so many things for the house, lights, pans, lamps, forniture, towels, bath sets, TV, VCR, etc. Every apartment is as nice as you make it... after all that will be your home seet home for a year. So it's up to you, but I definitely enjoy the apartment of six, for the price, the roomies, the size... cause the size matters... LOL

I was asked at my interviews what my preference was...maybe they don't anymore.

I was in a 2 bedroom and very happy. Our fridge was ALWAYS full...but 4 was good because we each had our own shelf in the fridge and cupboard in the kitchen and shelf in the pantry closet.

You and your roommates decide if you're going to have a party apartment or not. We didn't want it. A few friends over was okay, but not a huge party. Any party can turn huge in the Commons!!! We valued our belongings too much to have a party apartment. Not everyone will respect your stuff and lots of people have had things stolen...so keep that in mind when you have 50 people in your place. Go to parties at everyone elses place.

    thanks Shan thats good advice!
No we dont get the choice on what we end up in. Shan i was wondering how it works what happens when u get to the airport and then do they just give u random keys when u get to the commons?
    thanks,

There were only two of us coming in on my flight, but I'm sure it will be sorta the same. We were met at the airport by two guys. They took Jen and I too the Commons in a van. We arrived at noon, so they took the long way and showed us the sights. When we got to the Commons, we went into the office and had our pics taken for our ID's and then they gave us an envelope of papers and it had our room key in it. They have all the stuff preassigned. Then you can pick up your linen package and head off to your apartment. It will vary a little for you guys because you'll probably be arriving later in the day...so you may take your photos later. We had the whole day to do nothing, but were starving so we went to the outlet mall to buy food and shop a little...then unpacked and went to dinner.

Aw they showed u the sites - thats so cute! I would love that as ive never been b4!

lindseys gonna be on my flight and several others are arriving same day on these boards alone... I think we prob wont arrive till around 8pm (already looked up flights trying to guess which one disney might book!)
Thats annoying they take the pics that happened when i was jet lagged at my exchange the day after i arrived - worst pic ever! Is that pic for the id that gets u into the parks?

Wonder how they pick who goes in which apt...

You won't have your pic taken until later in the week. The office closes at 5pm...and most UKer's arrived after that. My roommate didn't get in until sometime between 6-9 i think. I kept calling from work to see if anyone would answer, so i could find out where she was from...and she was there when I walked into the apartment when I got home from work...whenever I got off at. I think that was the pic that was on my ID...I didn't get my permanent ID for 9 months (don't ask, long frustrating story)...so I can't really remember.

Thanks for the quick reply's. I am getting into Orlando at around 12:30 pm so that should give me lots of time then? Is there any advice anyone can give me as to what to do if you can't come to an agreement with your roomies? I mean I don't mind having a few people over but I really don't want to be a party Apartment.

I don't really. I was very lucky and had no mega-problems with my roomies. They were the best and I miss them so much!!! I'm sure someone has some stories they can share...
