How is it you have ID? Is it just a store ID?

I was a store CM too but as far as I'm aware you need a valid WDW ID before you're supposed to be anywhere backstage

I'm not a store CM, but that might make it worht becoming it one :p

Did you manage to buy anything at Company D? Because when you buy something, they scan your ID...

Thinking about it, does your ID give you the general CM merchandise discount?

yep i bought a few pins and discounted tickets for not so scary and cnt remember if was sea world, universal or both! hehe

store id cards get me discount at wdw... hopefully 35% this holiday as have done 3 years service! :D

causes a bit of confusion cos cast always go to scan the card so gta tell them its code 13... well was last time... and then when i say "you the press 9 to override it" they look at me funny and truntle off to get a supervisor!

Thanks! I'm interested now :). I'm gonna miss my discount from last year on all the merchandise I feel obliged to buy.

In answer to your original question, the utilidors under the Magic Kingdom are nice to say you've seen, even though their nothing special in themselves, but the security for them is quite tight, and I can imagine the security saying a TDS ID isn't good enough as you have no real need to be there. Worth a try, although seen as you're back in February, maybe not.

I imagine the Company D at the Magic Kingdom you went to is the one within Disney University, which doesn't have security.

Mickey's Retreat is worth popping to, too, as well; it's opposite the Chatham Square housing complex and is a nice, relaxing place to spend a little while.

    Hope this makes sense:

Go up World Drive, through the MK Toll Booth, head towards, and past the Contemporary (the road is North World Drive). Keep going along that road, you'll pass under the monorail tracks and Space Mountain will be to your right. Keep going

You'll come to a level crossing (for the WDW Railroad to get to the service area), straight turn right. Keep going straight a head, follow the road round a curve, and the parking for the University is on your right.

You can get in without any ID at all - well you could, and I hope you still can, 'cos I need to get there this summer to go to the bank.

Incidentally, if you park at the university, you can get into property control, which is where discounted old merchandise is sold to CMs only. It is about a five-minute walk away, but there'll be security about you can ask for directions. I'm gonna miss property control :(

(And if you don't drive/don't have a car, you can get a public bus to the university from the Transportation and Ticket Center)

You're welcome! Have a good time!

  16. Does Epcot also have utilidors? How do we get to our work spot, special cast entrances I imagine?

I hardly went backstage at Epcot, but from memory, the bus drops you off at Cast Services, which is behind Test-Track, ish. To get to Canada, you're going to hand to walk round the back.

I think there is a very-mini utilidor somewhere under Future World, but nothing MK-like.

Cast Services at Epcot is behind Mexico and Norway and Test Track is to the right....the main way we get to work is to either walk out between mexico and Odessy or to get the 'Lazy' bus around to the pavilions. There is one utilidor by Spaceship Earth, but most cast member entrances to on stage are outside...

Depending on which pavilion at which you work, walking is often faster than taking the bus. You are allowed to walk onstage too. So sometimes you'll see a big herd of Lumberjacks walking to work together!
