a 5k I am totally in¡¡¡¡¡ I am actually training for the wdw marathon if i can run a half on sept 1 before i go ill sign up for the full marathon on jan 11¡¡¡

 

and so far we are all from sept 9 so the team could actually be Epcot's Unitlico Geranada¡¡¡¡

Day after my Birthday. LOL. I so will give it a go. Only thing is what if we work that day? I want to sign up, but since I only start a month before that they might want me working. I will keep it in mind. If I dont go and I do have the day off I will go and watch.

When do you think registration will close? The idea is sounding more and more tempting, but I'd like to see if I could even run that far before I sign up (although, signing up IS good motivation to learn how to run ).

I've found a "Couch to 5K" running plan online http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml but I'd like to try out a few weeks to see if I have enough discipline to keep up with the plan, lol.

Is there anyone already down there already, or in the July 15th group that would like to be my running buddy and force me to run?

 

The race starts at 7am, and the slowest person has to be done by 7:45. I don't think our shifts in Canadian F&B that start that early. Even if you're working you might have time to shower and get to Epcot for your shift.

 

ok ...just so you get an idea:

a college athlete will run 5k in around 17 min.

Someone who is a runner, it will take him around 24 min.

someone who is fit, should be able to make it in about 35 min, 5 km at that speed its not even considered running anymore.

So even if you dont have good physical condition 45 min to do 5k sounds pretty reasonable.

And its true....for all of us who will work at Epcot . Our shifts will usually begin around 11 or 10. So if you finish the race at 9:00 thats just enough time to get to epcot (there are showers is epcots wardrobe ¡¡¡) so just sign up.

I am pretty sure i will keep running 4 days a week while in commons so anyone interested in trainning is welcomed to run along¡¡¡¡¡

 

Hmmm That is true. I have to look into that. I will let you guys know if I regester. I work this weekend so hopefully it does not rain and I can sign up and let you guys know.

 

hey guys jus been readin about this thing on the website and it sounds awesome!! definately up for it. but do you have an american bank account set up cos if you do i'll jus wait til i get out there before i set it up. registration goes on til jan 6th i think..? ???
