    Hey guys -

I know somewhere in the Disney Village there is a cinema, do we get discounts at it? Even, say, one mere night a week?

    Thanks!

    Hey Jen

At the AMC theatre in downtown disney cast members get in for $6.....i'm pretty sure that's any night (as i've been on different nights of the week!) but someone told me it was just on tuesday (he was a rather invaluable source tho...and when I say invaluable I mean not valuable at all!!)

The AMC theatre is a bit nasty tho....considering it's in DisneyWorld you'd have thought the standards would be a bit higher....it smells funny and there's no ice cream!! and whenever you do go, wear jeans and take a jumper.....you will freeze!!!

i'm not sure how much it is, but the movie theatre at City Walk (universal studios!) is much nicer!

I seem to remember it being any night as well. 95% of the places in Florida are freezing inside so I always carried a sweater.

For the AMC at DTD, they must have raised the prices. For an evening show, it's $9.00 or $7.00 if you have a CM or student id. It's cheaper for matinees, but I don't know if they have CM discounts on those too. (I hear it's easy to watch more than one movie because they don't check tickets in the afternoons...)

    Thanks for the responses guys!

Somewhat off topic, but I wonder how much control Disney has over the quality of the AMC?

I think I remember reading somewhere that AMC has a contract that they are the only complany/location where films can be publically shown to the public, save stuff inside the parks. Apparently Michael Eisner wanted to have a drive-in at a hotel that was being tossed around in the planning stage but couldn't due to the contract with AMC. Or something like that. (Fingers crossed I didn't dream this up in some off-the-wall dream!)

$7.00 is actually pretty decent to see a movie... Which is kind of pathetic.

You do get a discount. I think $7 is the new discounted price. If you go in for the afternoon shows then it is possile to get in to see other films after cause they display the film and start time above the doors to each screen.

Disney has no control over AMC at all. They are nothing to do with Disney and as far as I am aware do not even qualify as Operating Participants in the same way that other companies do. I would say that it is pretty standard for cinemas and is good in that it has lots of screens so lots of choice. As for cleanliness etc I never noticed a huge problem
