Do we work Christmas-is the park open Christmas. Personally im not worried about working Christmas-after all youre away from home anyway so it wont be the smaeanyway. What did u all do at Christmas in Disney
i wonder why-dont people have stuff to do on Christmas day-going to a theme park is the last thing id do on christmas day
I've been to Disney at Christmas...it is absolutely INSANE!!!!! the parks are packed!!! the time between the week before christmas to the week after new years is one of the busiest times of year...I'd say expect to work alot of overtime during those weeks! but I would think that it would be alot of fun as well, with all of the christmas-y atmosphere...and to keep your mind off being away from your family as well!
Disney is opened 365 days a year..and although the parks shut..It never actually shuts.. I believe if im right the last time it shout was September 11th 2001? As a mark of respect sort of thing.. I did a costuming shift for the rehearsals for the new parade and when we were finishing at 6 in the morning, the mechanics were starting! There's action going on none stop in the tunnels and things as well..
I'm sure I read that the parks are so busy that pretty much everyone works Christmas day? Its probably a good thing so you don't end up wallowing about not being home at Christmas.
Yeah..I agree..itll take your mind off things.. As for the hurricanes..i'll give you that one! I think i actually remember someone mentioning that now when i think about it..They only shut it for them 2 reasons..Shockingly dangerous weather and when they are paying respects to something major.. I think from what i guess is that its not really worthwhile to shut down..Although am i right in saying that animal kingdom does shut quite often?
I thought they closed the parks that day because they thought that Disney was a possible terrorist target due to the sheer number of people who are there everyday ???
I was in AK about 6 years ago and it shut in the afternoon because it was raining soooo heavily. There was like a rapid going through the park. i guess they must have sorted their drainage since then
...and AK often closes quite early, for what I can only guess is animal care....cause they have alot of animals to house and feed etc? but I have been there when they close at 6-7pm....though the staff probably stays alot later than that.
Yeah you probably won't be able to book christmas off and if you actually get it off consider your self lucky! Such a busy time in the parks they pretty much need all hands on deck.
I've worked in enough shops etc since I was 16 to have developped a huge dislike of Christmas! To me it's just another day so I'd rather just work it and try to get caught up in an atmosphere. But hey, I'd take a day in bed too quite easily! But I'm going to disney to work afterall, so work is what I want no matter what time of year whether Christmas, birthday, 4th July etc!
Well-althohg im going in december this time, last time i only worked there for the summer-however smack bang inteh middle of t hat was July 4th. I worked in Epcot, and i kid you not-i had a line of people wanting popcorn and drinks for at least 5 hours. I got into work at 1 int he afternoon, and they were that rushed, that i was sent for my lunch at 1.10, to get it out of the way and done
Yea people at Disney never stop working. When i worked at MGM, when i finished my shifts at 2.30am there were people cleaning, fixing, doing things, even pressure washing the parking lot!! Then when i had early shifts at 6am, people were still there making everything nice before the park opens.
On 4th of July I done traffic at the front of Spaceship Earth....perhaps the most scary experience of my life!
