Ok so this hardly ever gets brought up, so I thought I would bring it up myself. : ...A question on this subject then; I was told that if you are neither short or tall then it is unlikely that you will get this role while on the International College Program (or any of the international programs for that matter). Do you think this is true? If it is, then that sucks because i'm 5'7" so kinda middley Pluto height. :-X It's times like these that I wish I was a foot smaller to be Mickey and Minnie.
I know they're probably really hard to get but what about roles as princesses??Hehe that would be soooo cool ;D
I imagine that might be difficult... Because you don't just have to be the right hight, but the right size as well. And you have to have the right look. And if you're british you're choices are much more limited! Mary Poppins and Alice would be one of the few characters you could be...
I had a friend who went to Tokyo to be Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc. Accent doesn't really matter... at least it didn't with her. She said when she was doing meet and greets the script was usually the same and she'd just do an american accent for those phrases and improvise when she had to go off script. She did mostly parades though and therefore spent most of her time waving and smiling. It would be my absolute dream to play the same track as her... but apparently the auditions can be brutal and it's usually ex-Princesses casting and they're usually jaded and bitter about all these young pretty girls taking over. They sometimes picked the most un-princess like girl just to rock the boat. She said that was just the California audition though and that when she auditioned for Tokyo in London it was much easier and she was chosen for all the right reasons. There's so much politics involved apparently but she said when she was out there, she had an amazing time. It's just getting there that's the hardest part! The dresses only go up to a size 10, so you have to fit... most princesses are about 5ft7 anyway, they check your teeth to make sure you're not showing too much gum and have no cavaties.... it's brutal. You can't have like, face moles or scars because of continuity.
yeah i thought so. and i'm applying for the CRP which i think only has positions in f & b and merch (not positive though) anyways it was just a thought cuz honestly being a disney princess would be like an honor lol. but i guess it couldn't hurt to look into cuz i'm about 5'7" - 5'8" about a size 1, dark hair and i don't have an accent...to americans anyway lol (i'm from canada) haha i haven't even been contacted for an interview or anything, i think i'm getting too ahead of myself but i can't help getting excited just thinking about this opportunity ;D
there are no face roles for icp, unfortunately My next door neighbour (or former next door neighbour, I guess) Is a dancer on the Disney Cruise, and she is often cinderella... She got the part by fluke though, they were casting at a dance competition she was peforming in...
Yeah I didn't think there was in the ICP (I'm going for CRP anyway and I know there's no face character roles for that either) plus I don't know if I'd have the confidence to be on show all the time cuz I'm kinda shy lol
