Hey people! I am gunna be a character this summer on icp from may 25- aug 8. Any advice from past charcter performers? What is it like? You get to be lots of dif characters in your height, right? What is the audition like? Do they train you to sign the autographs, do the actions etc? Any one else a character??

    So Excited!

not been a character myself but know lots of people who have been and one of my roomates was one!
you get to be lots of diferent ones depending if you are approved in the costume. like one of my friends was disaproved in flik cos flik is a boy and she made flik look like a girl. haha.

audition is in 2 parts. they teach you a dance and you do it, then in the animation excersise where they give you a senario and you have to act it out with out saying anything. its to show you can convey messages without speaking.

you get about 4 or 5 days training and you get a book with all the characters you could be doing. one of my friends had like over 20 in her height range. in the book is a page on each character and their autograph for you to copy over and over and over and over until you get it right!

Being a character performer does sounds really fun, I think if I ever do the ICP id like to do that!

Steffie, did you learn to do them with your eyes closed? It must be difficult doing them in the mask when you cant see..
