Cdn Phone Calls Started!

Just got my call from Cast-a-way today...well they phoned but I wasnt in so Ill phone them back tommorow...just wondering if anyone else out there got one and how it went.

Yup ! I got my interview today, and got invited to the interviews in Vancouver on the 6th !!!! Eric was extremely nice and the conversation went very smoothly! Very excited for the interview now !!! Good Luck to anyone waiting for their phone interview!

 

OMG. I needed this so bad. Thank you for letting me know. I shall wait. Not sure if I got one I will check soon. Had some crazy neighbor problems tonight and ended up outside talking to police all evening, so I will go check now. *Runs to check* Nope none yet. Maybe tomorrow. Good luck tomorrow DigitalPhear.

jessewm66 congrats on that. Did he let you pick what place you wanted to go or do they have that planned already when you call?

Eric just asked me if I lived in Vancouver and I said yes, so I assume he already knew my interview would be in Vancouver. As soon as we got off the phone he e-mailed me the location for the interview as well as what to bring. It was extremely nerve racking but I am very glad I got through!!! I am sure you will get your interview soon Timitu!!! And by the way you all can just call me Jesse, makes it easier!

 

Welp...I called castaway back today and eric is gone until next wensday...wenseday..wensaday...grr...i hate that word...anyways I ended up talking to some girl with like a hot Australian accent, and low and behold...IM IN!

Calgary Interviews on Nov.5th baby! Yeah!

So lets start hearing from everyone whos in for that same interview and make some plans so we can all meet up, and maybe even stay int he same hotel and stuff.

Its on! wooohooo!

 

I am so nervous. I still have not heard anything. Should I wait till next Wednesday or call and talk to the girl? LOL. It is really driving me crazy, I keep worrying I will either be forgotten or lost somewhere. Is there many Canadians on here who are waiting for interviews. Anyone else not get called yet? My last name is fairly low on the list, not sure if they are doing it alphabetically or not. (Last name starts with and S)

Anyway anyone else not heard yet so I don't have to feel bad. LOL.

Edit: I want to say congrats though. I was meaning to say that in here too. Just got a little carried away. Hopefully we will be seeing each other then November 5th. That is the one I want to go to as well.

Maybe they are doing it alphabetically...my last name starts with a B so that would put me on top pretty much...although...I have a friend who applied and his starts with a C and he hasnt heard anything yet. Hrmm

Anyways...The girls name was...Cheree...(I dont know if thats pronounced like Sherry or Cherry ) but she said she was doing the interviews until Eric got back.

Anyways I think if I were you I would just call and be like "Yes I applied for the wdw IP and I was just checking on the status of that..blah blah blah". Im pretty sure she will just give you the interview right then and there on the spot.

Thanks for the congrats and all that...Im sure you'll do fine...the girl didnt drill me as much as Eric did when I talked to him so its pretty much a breeze.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask...like IS there anyone else on these boards that we know of that are applying?? Other then the three of us I havent seen any Canandians lurking around at all.

lol I know!!! I want to kind of get a rough estimate of people going to the interviews, but there seems to be a lack of Canadians applying on this board!! By the way Congrats DigitalPhear!!!

I am really curious on how many people applied, and how many people are going to the interviews. I am already stressing out about it, and it is just over a month til the interviews. Hopefully all goes well for all of us, and this time next year we will all be done in SUNNY FLORIDA !

 

Too bad this is a long weekend. LOL. But hopefully I can keep myself busy so it goes by fast. I might call on Tuesday and see. With being out of the house a lot this last week, very unexpectedly I want to make sure they did not call while I was gone.

I wonder where they are? But even though we wondered who from Ontario was going it would be nice to hear from more people outside Ontario going as well. Jesse is the only one showing them self outside of Ontario. LOL. Maybe trying to get away from it till they have heard something. That was my thought at first but then I began to wonder if I would be left out and started to worry so now I check at least once a day.

 

Which program did you guys apply for... the 2008 summer ICP? Supposedly Cast-a-Way is looking for people in the west now, and then the east coast in January - nooo idea why though. That being said, I doubt if anyone from Ontario will show up at any of the interviews in Calgary or Vancouver... although you never know. I can't wait for them to start interviewing for Toronto... has anyone from Ontario applied yet?

I have applied for the CRP for next year.

Timitu and DigitalPhear are both from Ontario, and they are flying out to Calgary for the interviews in November. I am from Vancouver, so I'll be at the Vancouver interviews in November. It is true they are only interviewing in the west coast in the fall, then in the spring they will be back east. But good luck in applying! And it is nice seeing another Canadian on the board !

Yeah like last time I applied for this there was probably about ten of us fromt eh boards that all met up at the interviews and stuff. And all in all I think there maybe have been like 30-40 people at the interviews so we made up a pretty big chunk of that.

Maybe nobodies applying this time around and were garunteed to get in

 

Ya, I am from Ontario. DigitalPhear sorry about that. LOL. I got mixed up. All the excitement I guess is making me type before I think.

I am applying now cause my Aunt and Uncle just moved to Calgary, and plus things calm down for me in the winter, but start up again in the spring. Plus I am going to see if I can get a week off in August to come back for the annual Street painting competition over here that I have been a part of, and if I wait till the spring ones I might not even be getting there till August. LOL. I am cool with the traveling. There is a flight right to Calgary from my home town so it wont be bad, and I got family to see as well so even if I don't make it this time around it would not be a wasted trip.

But ya, I applied I am just waiting for my phone interview which I will be calling them tomorrow just to check on. Good luck with applying in January though. If I don't make this one then I will be seeing you there. Much closer to home but I still want the adventure of traveling to Calgary since I have never been there.

It's too bad you're not going to the Toronto interviews Timitu.. it would've been really great to know someone else going too :'(. But it sounds like going to the ones in Calgary is a good choice for you so enjoy your trip!

 

As time gets closer Mylo there will be people to meet for yours as well. You will be the one giving them all the answers. You should post in January asking if any other Canadians are applying and I am sure you will meet a few. We seem to be actually a very small group this time around. Not sure if the Canadian group is bigger or maybe we are just more quiet on here at least. Our time of extreme happiness has yet to come I guess.

(LOL it would be funny if we were the only ones and then we automatically would get in. That would be sweet.)

I tried calling yesterday but got the answering machine. So I left a really stupid message. Well the first part sounded ok but I ended it really dumb cause I could not think of what to say to bring my point to a close and the dogs were going crazy at the door at the time so I had a sudden reason to rush to finish and get out and let the dogs in before they came through the window. LOL. Wonder if I will get a phone call today or I might call them in the evening. How late are they open? I just want to know cause if I am going or not cause I have so many arrangements to be made.

 

Hey Timitu, I think Eric leaves at 4. That is what I heard, so I am not sure if it is true.

And thanks Mylo! I am sure you will get in as well, anyone that shows enough dedication to find this website and to post on it, deserves it!

On that note, 27 days to the interviews in Vancouver......

 

I think I just had my phone interview. But they said they would let me know if I was invited. I thought we find out at the end of the phone interview. I am so nervous on that phone. LOL. If I had the choice to call for Pizza or starve, I would probably starve. Hope I make it cause I can only really show my true side in a face to face thing. I would have told him I was nervous but I did not know I was being interviewed till half way though. LOL. How did they tell you two that you were in?

 

They just said at the end of the interview that I was invited to the Face to Face interviews in Vancouver, and that they are scheduling me in right at that second.

I am sure you will get invited Timitu, I was really nervous on the Phone as well. I believe when asked "What is there to do in Canada?" I said Forests. So don't worry, hopefully your good news will come soon !

 

Hopefully. My mom brought up a good point. That they might need to wait and make sure everyone from that area gets the chance. Hopefully there is enough room for someone from Ontario.

LOL. Oh that makes me feel a little better. LOL no worse then some of mine but that is a good answer. Hopefully I will hear soon. I will be keeping you guys in on the latest news. Perhaps we will hear of some others, so I know roughly how good my chances are of getting in.
