Hi there, I wondered if anyone could give me some advise on buying a car over here? If anyone has one up for sale, then that would be perfect, if not, does anyone have any suggestions of the best places you can get them from? Thanks..
The only thing I've heard about bying a car, is that you shouldn't buy one that's been in the commons...
I'm not sure... My best guess is that maybe people don't take care of the car because they're there for a short time and many don't have too much money either...
I know what you mean..Think all the cars over here don't really get tret too well to be honest.. Think im going to check out a few used car garages and see what they have to offer..
I'd love to get a car when/if I'm out there.... might just get a FL driving license and rent one when I need it. I'm sure insurance would cost a bomb anyway.
you don't need a FL license to rent a car... having a car sure is nice though... getting to and fro work and the grocery store, as well as malls, the beach, Orlando etc would be so much easier... and it's not that cheap to rent a car all the time either. Investing in a car is definately worth it.
I know you don't need a license, but it's a lot easier if you have one. And I doubt I'd use a car that much anyway. Just to get to places like Universal and stuff once in a while. However if a good deal came up... I'd have to see. Depends on how much money I'd before I went.
you could get an ok car for about two grand, + licensing and insurance, etc... but then again you get about the same back when you leave.... just sell it to someone working foods.. they have money to waste anyways

I'm so lucky and my father who is a big sook is flying down and getting me a car. I'm planning on when I finish my program driving my car home across the states.
You wouldn't believe how annoying it is getting the bus everywhere..U'll understand when you get here..When do you arrive? I work at animal kingdom, so the buses are pretty bad, if you work in a resort as well, I would advise 100% to get a car, otherwise your looking at up 2 a 2 hour bus journey 2 or from work each day.. Going to orange blossom trail next monday to get one im thinking..Im just after something to get my from A to B really..Might have a look on the board at the commons as well..I think the thing about not buying cars from the commons could be true, but you just gotta be careful really..
a 2 hour bus ride to work???? I'm going to be at the Commons and working at Epcot...is it seriously 2 hours???
Going to Epcot is not that bad! takes 30minutes to and from the commons It takes longer to get to the resorts because you have to change busses on your way to work...
Yeah, epcot has the best bus route really..For some reason though there is probably more people in the commons that buy cars than any of the other places I would say..
speaking of buses... NEVER get on the buses to florida mall, it takes several hours to get there. rent a car, have kojak take you, or some other taxi bloke.. to be sure not to throuw your entire day away
I took the public busses to Florida Mall most of the times, it wasn't much of a problem for me! I just took my iPod and a book with me! It takes around 1 hour with the bus...
i didnt think it was too bad, and it only cost like $1. it did stop alot though but only took about an hour. there were always other disney program people on the bus too!
Yeah, I don't think its that long, its just boring.. Just thought i'd let everyone know, seen as though the thread is about the cars.. That I got a car last monday..only cost me $1000..Isn't too bad either..Had it serviced today and didn't get too much of a bad report.. So good to have a car as well, feels like i've got alot of freedom back..
