I was wandering how much of this goes on.. and if so how difficult is it to get a car between people and co-insure so everyone can drive? I was thinking it might be a cool thing to do if like 3 or 4 of us pitch in it could be not too expensive either. Jamie
At least getting a driving license wont be a problem, apparently it is $20 and a drive round a car park in an automatic car
great idea. I already drive, am going out on same date as you and we're both merchandise. was going to try and buy a car out there myself anyways and sell my car here before i leave!
Personally its not something I could do. I think it would result in arguments about who wanted the car, who put more gas in it, who needs it more etc. I'd rather save up and buy one myself and know that I don't have to share it with someone else. I think it could create a lot of tension and hurt feelings.
Emi - yep i kinda agree with you. I think it sounds like a good idea in theory - but say someone had a crash....i just think it could get messy, i'd probably worry about insurance, people falling out over it etc...could cause hassle :-(. But who knows, i think i'm just gonna wait until i'm out there to decide about a car and if it would be worth it or not. xx
