Cancelled

As many of you know, I recenetly got offered a position in merchandise starting September 8th, however as I feared for the past week. Disney has cancelled this job offer.

They have told me that I would be able to apply next year, however I am not doing this. Going through this application process this year has done far to much stress to me and my family. From being put on the wait list, to being sent a welcome letter, to the welcome letter being a mistake, then getting a position, then 3 weeks before I go being told 'Actually this isn't happening'

I feel completely and utterly crushed by Disney right now. But I honestly hope that this year brings all of you so many great memories and fun times. And I just hope you look after each other.

P.S Please dont be offended if i delete some of u off facebook, i just cant go through a year of disney updates. Im sure you understand.

He self-termed. It's a different issue to being termed by Disney.
I'm only answering because I'm pretty sure Jim now doesn't come anywhere near this site. It's such a shame because he wanted it so badly. It seems nonsense to me that Disney put him on a waiting list, took him off a waiting list, then told him he couldn't go but he could re-apply. If he could re-apply, what's to stop this happening again?! Pure poppy cock, imo.

hmm, i guess if the offers there and then taken away, it wa sup to disney, maybe if he did get termed it wnt look good, or he may have gotten a bad review from his former managers? also report cards are looke dat agen. Just a few things that may go in sum1s favour im not saying these things happened, but its wot disney consider not yummy...but it is a pisser to have it then lose it all within a few weeks!

i ddnt see his reaction to the waiting list, was he just saying why did other people get it over hime etc? bad sportsmanship if he was rude about it! also people need to realsie that with disney ure expendable, if u dnt fit the bill u get replaced in a heart beat, so its no loss to them...

if he got termed then he should have realsied he wouldnt have been able to re-apply, he hushed up about what was happening when he got offered a place...its sad on every level really...

The bit that makes no sense to me is the re-applying thing. If they were going to turn round and say he couldn't work there, he shouldn't have even been waitlisted, let alone get a place. But according to him, when they turned him down this time, they said he could re-apply! Now if he had a chance with the next set of applications, why wouldn't he have one with the set he was in? Whether he was Disney-termed, or self-termed, the whole thing makes little to no sense. I do still feel sorry for him.

 

I do feel for him as it should never have got as far as it did and rudeness is never acceptable if he has indeed been rude. I don't mind being deleted from facebook by people I haven't met face to face but it seems some people do. Maybes a personal message would have been nice alongside it. However, saying that, I have just gone through my own profile and deleted a load of people who I never ever talk to and actually don't have anything in common with. That however is down to some trust issues I had with some people I thought I had known but didn't, nothing to do with the Jim's reasons. Personally I would like to see how people are doing over there. Just because I didn't get through the process doesn't mean that I should make them feel guilty for getting through.
Right I am now rambling and making very little sense .....

 

by rude i got the feeling through what he was saying it was like "hy didu get a place and i didnt" like he was sure he was going to get it, he told my mate he had 2 come home for personla reasons which is a lie, personaly, i hate bullshitters, so fair play 2 him for having a go, same he never got it, onto the next adventure for him
but as for us, lets get all excitable about this adventure

If he got Termed for whatever reason then i have no sympathy. Rules are the rules and i'm surprised some of the people out here now are still enployed

Hi everyone its lovely to see so many people who I barely spoke to over the past few months on here absolutely slating me. Cheers.

First Off, my being termed. Is no-ones business but my own and Disney's. And the reason for my termination are so stupid that I dont wanna even talk about it.

AND ARRON, I was never rude or disrespectful to guests, I loved my job and made it my mission to be as nice as possible to every guest that came my way. stop acting like a little school girl with this gossiping stuff. I would really like to know who these 3 people are aswell. Cos I only told 2 people the reason. I applied to disney and they said I could re-apply and finish the program. And in the 11th hour they told me that i cant come but that I could re-apply next year as that would be a suitable amount of time after my termination.

Now, Arron, what is wrong with your mind mate? When I have ever done anything remotely nasty or rude to you to merrit this kind of treatment. I always thought u seemed like a nice guy, but now I just think of you as quite a spiteful little Mickey!. And along with Bongalina you're now calling me rude? What are you talking about? And bonganlina? You wanna talk about the wait list times? The first thing you said after people announced they had been wait listed was 'OMG I HOPE I GET IT!' very mature and helpful!

And the reason I deleted you all was because I didn't wanna go through a year of seeing you all in sunny florida, with picture updates and such.

Disney Dude. Mate you dont even know me, and for you to be involved in this discussion is complete nonsense.

I am not a bad person, I dont intentionally set out to be rude or mean to anyone. And I never once had bad feelings to any of you whatsoever. But this whole convo is really sickening to me, and I can't believe that Disney would hire people who are so clearly still stuck in a High school Mickey!ing, patheticly childish place in their lives.

With all that said, I still hope u guys have a good year. But maybe try and mind ur own business and grow up a little?

And statistically some of you will get termed for ridiculous reasons and if you look to past participants they will tell you how easy it is to be termed. So dont count your chickens before they're hatched.

P.S I hope none of you do get termed. Because it was the most gut wrenching feeling i have ever experienced, Being torn away from people and a country I had grown to love to be sent back with no money and no job. Not nice. And to have people on here that I barely know, discussing my situation like its a highlight from the latest episode of 'The Hills' makes me want to vomit.

 

So................i dont understand all of this.......getting terminated is probably the most hardest and most painful and most devasting thing to experience when you work for a company and place you absolutely adore, especially Disney. What I know is that when you get terminated from Disney, it is only for a period of time and then you can reapply and your histroy is wiped clean. The reason why Jim can reapply next year is because there are 3 rules to termnation.
For Americans: it is a 6 month and 1 year rule.
For Internationals: 2 year rule.
So anyone who is termed can reapply again after the rule disney has decided for that individual.
Another thing i wanna note is that you can get terminated for so many reasons in Disney. I knew ppl from my last program that were termed and the reasons where petty. But i also knew ppl who should have been termed but never did. Unfortunately, it happens but when it does, they prob feel absolutely devasted. You have to put yourself in there shoes. It is the most awful feeling especially when i heard Jim was told he could reapply!!!!

Honestly, i can't imagine what Jim must feel right now!!!! I completely understand why he would wanna delete some of us from FB coz if i was him and i went through what he went through, i would never wanna see all the happy times there gonna experience from Disney. It would be so so painful, especially Jim has been through a rollarcoaster. He probably feels devasted right now for seein us write things about him that we don't even know the full reason to.

Jim I am so sorry. I don't think anyone means to say anything really against you. Its just chinese whispers and they don't know what you went through or dont know what the whole situation is especially with Disney and that must have been so so hurtful and painful for you to read these comments. I am so sorry what you have been through.
